PCT Guamá ensures support for the institutional modernization of the Public Ministry of the State
The implementation of the new Innovation and Artificial Intelligence Offices of the Public Ministry will have the strategic participation of the Science and Technology Park
The Science and Technology Park (PCT) Guamá, in Belém, will play a strategic role in the implementation of the new Innovation and Artificial Intelligence Offices of the Public Ministry of the State of Pará (MPPA). The initiative is part of a Technical Cooperation Agreement signed this Tuesday (29) between the MPPA and the Guamá Foundation, the science and technology institution responsible for managing the Park, and aims to accelerate digital transformation in the public sector.
With specialized infrastructure, companies, and laboratories working on the development of technological solutions, PCT Guamá will be the environment for technical-scientific support for activities such as applied research, pilot projects, training, events, and mentoring aimed at the institutional modernization of the Public Ministry. The agreement also provides for the integration of members and staff of the MPPA into the Park's ecosystem, promoting exchanges.

Guidelines - The actions will be monitored by an Innovation and Artificial Intelligence Management Committee, composed of representatives from both institutions, and will follow governance, compliance, and data protection guidelines, reinforcing the commitment to transparency and legal security.
“The creation of the Innovation and Artificial Intelligence Offices within the Public Ministry reaffirms the role of PCT Guamá as a catalyst for solutions that connect science and public management. This is a strategic movement that places innovation as a tool for real social impact,” said João Weyl, president of the Guamá Foundation.
The Attorney General, Alexandre Tourinho, also highlighted the relevance of the initiative in the institutional transformation process. “This is an agenda that directly dialogues with the legacy that Pará wants to present to the world at COP 30: a state that preserves its forest and its knowledge, but also produces knowledge, trains professionals of excellence, and invests in cutting-edge technology,” he emphasized.

Reference in innovation in the Amazon
The PCT Guamá is an initiative of the Government of Pará, through the State Secretariat of Science, Technology and Higher, Professional and Technological Education (Sectet), in partnership with UFPA and the Federal Rural University of the Amazon (Ufra), and managed by the Guamá Foundation.
It is the first technological park in the Northern region of Brazil and aims to stimulate applied research and innovative and sustainable entrepreneurship to improve the quality of life of the population.
Located on the banks of the Guamá River, which gives its name to the complex, the PCT is situated between the campuses of the two universities and has an ecosystem rich in biodiversity, extending over 72 hectares, designated for buildings and the Environmental Protection Area (APA) of the Metropolitan Region of Belém.
The complex has more than 30 resident companies (physically installed in the Park), more than 40 associates (linked to the Park but not physically installed), 12 research and development laboratories for processes and products, and a technical school.
The PCT Guamá is part of the National Association of Entities Promoting Innovative Enterprises (Anprotec) and the International Association of Science Parks and Areas of Innovation (Iasp), and is part of the largest innovation ecosystem in the world.
