Public Regional Hospital of the East (HRPL) conducts health education on hepatitis
The action aimed to raise awareness among users, companions, and collaborators about the diagnoses and treatments of viral hepatitis
On last Monday (28), the Public Regional Hospital of the East (HRPL), located in Paragominas, promoted a health education action in honor of the "World Day Against Viral Hepatitis." The initiative aimed to raise awareness among users, companions, and collaborators about the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of viral hepatitis.
Rafaela Cecília, a nurse from the Permanent Education Center (NEP), highlights the importance of campaigns like "Yellow July." Awareness is essential to promote prevention, enable early diagnosis, and ensure appropriate treatment, contributing to the reduction of transmission and complications associated with the disease. "That’s why it’s important to expand the population's knowledge, as it strengthens public health and combats the spread of the virus," she pointed out.
"I didn’t know about this campaign. I came to accompany my sister for an exam and was surprised. I learned about prevention methods, such as being careful with the water we consume and keeping vaccinations up to date. It was very important, as many people do not have this knowledge, and actions like this provide the opportunity to learn," concluded Carmelina da Silva, 64, and a homemaker.
The initiative was carried out in the hospital's service sectors and conducted by the Humanization Commission, in partnership with the Permanent Education Center (NEP).
