With the support of the Government of Pará, athletes shine in the 2025 IFBB Brazilian Bodybuilding Championship in São Paulo
In addition to reaching the podium, the representatives from Pará also reinforced the role of the State as a breeding ground for high-performance athletes

With the support of the Government of Pará, through the State Secretariat of Sports and Leisure (Seel), the athletes from Pará, José Roberto and Igor Farias, shone in the 55th Brazilian Bodybuilding and Fitness Championship, promoted by IFBB Brazil, from July 18 to 20, at the Italian-Brazilian Theater in São Paulo. The competition brought together the leading names in national bodybuilding, and the representatives from Pará not only reached the podium but also reinforced the role of the State as a breeding ground for high-performance athletes.
The athletes were received on the morning of this Wednesday (30) at the Seel headquarters by the Secretary of Sports and Leisure, Cássio Andrade, to thank for the support received and to showcase their achievement.
"I was very happy with the achievement of these athletes in one of the main competitions at the national level, and even happier for this visit of gratitude to the Government of Pará. We at Seel can only congratulate them and rest assured that we are always working to ensure that more achievements like these are reached by every athlete in all modalities," said the secretary.

At 53 years old, José Roberto became the champion of the Classic Master category over 50 years and secured 4th place in the Classic Physique Open, competing against younger athletes. His performance was rewarded with a medal and a champion's trophy, consolidating his journey in the sport. "The feeling is unique. Our State has great athletes, and I make a point of saying that I am from Pará. Representing our colors in such an important championship is a source of great pride," he highlighted.
The cold was pointed out as the biggest challenge faced during the competition: "For those with a low body fat percentage and on a restricted diet, the cold weather directly impacts performance. It required a lot of focus to maintain performance," he shared.
After the achievement, José is already aiming for new goals. He will begin preparation for the Mister Universo Brasil Internacional 2025, which will take place in October in the State of Goiás. "I am still recovering from the last event, but soon I wish to outline new strategies to pursue another title. With each competition, we learn something new. The goal is to always evolve."

Another highlight at the IFBB Brazilian Championship was the athlete from Pará, Igor Farias, 35 years old. Competing in the Muscular Men's Physique category over 1.75m, he achieved third place, establishing himself among the best in the country.
"Representing Pará is a huge responsibility. Carrying the flag of our State to the podium is a duty that I carry with pride and focus. Our State has a lot of potential and deserves to be highlighted on the national and international stage."
Igor also emphasized the importance of the support from the State Secretariat of Sports and Leisure (Seel) for enabling his participation: "The support from Seel is essential. Without it, it would be impossible to compete in major events in Brazil and the world. Many of my best results have the direct backing of this public incentive."
Igor already has a confirmed schedule: he will compete in the Mercosul Championship, which will be held in Argentina on August 3, and later in the World Bodybuilding Championship in September.
Sports and support that transform - The achievements of José Roberto and Igor Farias demonstrate the positive impact of institutional support for high-performance sports. With the support of Seel, athletes from Pará have been gaining space on national and international podiums.
