Thefts and robberies register a decrease in the State, according to a partial balance of Operation Summer 2025
The actions continue until next Monday (4), ensuring the order and safety of residents and vacationers in the areas.

The strategic actions and the reinforcement of policing in more than 50 locations in Pará during Operation Summer 2025 have already recorded a reduction in crime in Pará. Among the crimes that showed a decrease are theft and robbery, with 18% and 11.6%, respectively, in the total of the four weekends in July.
The data was released by the Public Security and Social Defense Secretariat of Pará (Segup), through the Deputy Secretariat of Intelligence and Criminal Analysis (Siac), this Wednesday (30). The actions of Operation Summer continue until next Monday (4), ensuring the order and safety of residents and vacationers in the areas.
According to the data released, in absolute numbers in the year 2024, there were 3,944 cases of theft, while in the year 2025, 3,235 occurrences were recorded, representing an 18% drop in cases throughout the State. Regarding the crime of robbery, in 2024 there were 1,439 cases registered, compared to 1,272 occurrences recorded in 2025, indicating a reduction of 11.6%. The numbers refer to the period of the four weekends in July that received the actions of Operation Summer 2025.

The Secretary of Public Security and Social Defense, Ualame Machado, explains that the operation began on the last weekend of June and continues until the first weekend of August; however, with only a partial of the weekends in July, a reduction in crime can already be observed, with positive numbers, even in the face of the intense movement of vacationers in the main resorts of Pará at this time of year.
“Every year we evaluate what needs more attention in public security during the summer and seek to improve actions in order to ensure the safety of the population and achieve better results compared to what we have already achieved in the previous year. Given these actions, we already have a partial, comparing only the 4 weekends of July within the summer operation, and we have already proven the reduction in property crimes, such as thefts and robberies, and also crimes against life such as bodily injury followed by death and sexual harassment,” informed the secretary.
More reduction - Another crime that showed a reduction in the four weekends of July was Bodily Injury Followed by Death, which this year recorded one occurrence. In 2024, there were 3 cases recorded, representing a reduction of 66.7% of occurrences. Regarding the crime of sexual harassment, 41 cases were recorded in 2025 and 71 in 2024, indicating a decrease of 42.3% throughout the State.

Metropolitan Region of Belém - In the Metropolitan Region of Belém (RMB), security actions have also been intensified with operations by the Military Police in ostensive and preventive policing at strategic points in the major urban corridors, as well as integrated inspections in the rivers and reinforcement in the services of the Civil Police Sections.
According to Siac data, in the RMB, the crime of robbery remained stable compared to the years 2025 and 2024, recording 816 cases in each year. Regarding thefts, the RMB showed a reduction of 7.2% compared to the same period in 2024, with a total of 1,345 occurrences recorded in 2025, compared to 1,449 recorded last year. The data refers to the four weekends in July.
Actions and monitoring - The prevention and ostensive actions began on June 28, 2025, under the Coordination of the Public Security and Social Defense Secretariat (Segup), in conjunction with the agencies of the State Public Security System (Sieds), and partnerships with municipal and federal agencies, continuing until August 4.
The Integrated Command and Control Center (CICC) continues to operate in the municipalities of Salinópolis and in the district of Mosqueiro, gathering the focal points of security agencies, with real-time monitoring through security cameras installed in the locations, as well as agents to register occurrences of lower offensive potential.
