Civil Police of Pará arrests man with drug portions in Belém
The suspect is believed to be involved with a criminal faction and was allegedly planning an attack against the life of a public servant

Continuing the operational policing actions in the Metropolitan Region of Belém, the Civil Police of Pará executed a definitive arrest warrant against an alleged member of a criminal faction and seized 23 portions of narcotics. The operation, carried out on Tuesday (29), was coordinated by the Homicide Delegation of Public Agents (DHAP) and received support from the personnel of the State Narcotics Division (Denarc).
The incident occurred after police teams received an anonymous tip mentioning that the suspect was allegedly planning an attack against the life of a public servant in the municipality of São Miguel do Guamá.
"Throughout the investigations, we identified that he commonly transited near a university located in the Guamá neighborhood, and there was a report against him for drug trafficking in the area. For this reason, the police teams proceeded to the location, set up surveillance, and located him within the institution's premises with four other individuals. During the approach, he attempted to flee but was contained by the police teams," points out delegate David Silveira from DHAP.
During the personal search, 23 portions of a substance similar to marijuana and the amount of R$ 483 in cash were found in the criminal's backpack. All material was seized and presented at the police unit for the necessary procedures. The man was arrested and taken to the Police Station for appropriate measures.
"The case remains under investigation with the aim of identifying, locating, and arresting other possible individuals involved in planning attacks against public agents or who have any type of connection with criminal organizations,” added delegate Maurício Pires, head of the Homicide Division.
