Codec starts strategic plan to boost job creation in Bragança
The municipality in northeastern Pará will be benefited by the State with support for integrated actions to promote the economy and strengthen local vocations
The Government of Pará, through the Economic Development Company (Codec), started on Wednesday (30) a strategic plan aimed at job creation and strengthening the economy in the municipality of Bragança, northeastern Pará. This action is another step in the policy of internalizing development promoted by the state administration, prioritizing technical support and sustainable planning in Pará municipalities.
The initiative is part of the state government's guideline to promote economic growth, ensuring that all regions have access to structuring public policies based on local vocations and the generation of opportunities for the population.
During the online meeting with representatives from the Bragança City Hall, Codec presented the axes of the work plan that will be developed in an integrated manner with the municipal government. The actions include mapping economic opportunities, encouraging entrepreneurship, strengthening productive chains, improving the business environment, and preparing the Bragança Investor Guide.
"This is a work that respects the vocations of each municipality, but also looks to the future with responsibility. Our role is to support local management with technical tools that contribute to strategic planning and attracting investments," explained Aline Tavares, manager of Development and Economic Studies at Codec, linked to the Directorate of Strategy and Institutional Relations.

Potential - The meeting was led by the Board Advisor, Evandro Diniz, who presented the stages of the collective construction process. "We will work in a participatory manner, developing diagnostics, mapping existing infrastructure, and structuring projects focused on job and income generation. Our goal is to transform potential into concrete results," he reinforced.
During the meeting, the City Hall also presented areas with potential to attract businesses and highlighted recent investments in infrastructure and receptive tourism, with support from state and federal governments.
For the mayor of Bragança, Mário Ribeiro da Silva Júnior, this moment represents a new scenario for the municipality. "The development of Bragança cannot wait. Job and income generation is a priority for our administration, and the partnership with Codec is a perfect match. We are in tune with what the state government has proposed to transform our region," he stated.
The deputy mayor and secretary of Planning and Works, Marcely Castanho, highlighted the importance of the technical support that is arriving in the municipality. "We have many projects and ideas. The presence of Codec represents the arrival of a qualified partner who can help us organize these proposals based on technical grounds, planning, and feasibility," she assured.
Also participating in the meeting were the municipal secretary of Tourism, Maryllin Oliveira; the secretary of Infrastructure, Afonso Milhomem; the director of Economic Development at Seggov, Sandro Marcelo Castanho Pinheiro; and the Development Agent from Sebrae (Brazilian Service of Support for Micro and Small Enterprises), Adalberto Ribeiro. From Codec, the foreign trade manager, Eduardo Rodrigues, and the institutional relations manager, Augusto César Anunciação, were present.

Next steps - The next step will be the holding of the Regional Economic Development Seminar in Bragança, which will bring together representatives from the public power, entrepreneurs, local institutions, and civil society to deepen discussions and build collaborative solutions. Subsequently, the process of preparing the Investor Guide and training actions aimed at the local business environment will begin.
Codec's work in Bragança follows the model already applied in Igarapé-Miri, Capanema, Oriximiná, Paragominas, and São Domingos do Capim, among other municipalities, reaffirming the commitment of the Government of Pará to a fairer, more participatory, and regionalized economic development that strengthens the protagonism of Pará municipalities in building a sustainable future for the entire population.
