The Economic Development Company of Pará (Codec) continues to advance in attracting investments to the Industrial District of Marabá, in southeastern Pará. On Thursday (31), the Company received a personal visit from businessman Amaurício Rodrigues, from Du Sono, which currently has a mattress factory in a rented property in the city. The company is now seeking its own area in the district to consolidate its operations and establish a new unit focused on spring production.

Du Sono's interest in the industrial hub was initially expressed in an online meeting held on July 15, when the company had access to the first technical information about the available infrastructure. The in-person visit to Codec's headquarters marked the deepening of negotiations, with the analysis of the map of areas and the prospecting of a plot of approximately 30,000 square meters, strategically located near the railway and the road freight flow.

During the agenda, Codec's technical team presented the conditions for the commercialization of the areas, including the price per square meter, payment methods, and the criteria required for industrial installation on site. The Deputy Secretary of the Secretary of Economic Development, Mining and Energy (Sedeme), Carlos Ledo, also participated in the meeting, providing information and guidance on the tax incentives offered by the State Government.

The meeting was led by the Director of Investment and Business Attraction at Codec, Manoel Ibiapina, who highlighted the importance of supporting companies with a productive history in Pará. "Our role is to create pathways for entrepreneurs to grow here. When a local company decides to invest in its own area and expand its operations, it shows confidence in the State's industrial policy," said the director.

Also participating in the institutional agenda were Lorena Aguiar, advisor to the Directorate of Investment and Business Attraction (Dain); Sabrina Sena, manager of New Business Services at Dain; and Carlos Eduardo Monte, manager of Project Study Development at the Technical Directorate (Ditec), responsible for presenting the map with the available areas in the Industrial District of Marabá.

Codec also provided guidance on the necessary procedures for the company to access the credit lines offered by the Bank of the Amazon, aimed at the implementation and expansion of industrial enterprises in Pará.

With a trajectory marked by innovation and a commitment to quality, Du Sono was founded in 2014 in the municipality of Curionópolis, manufacturing box springs in an artisanal way for its network of stores. The company grew rapidly, transferred its operations to Parauapebas in 2015, and since 2018 has been located in Marabá, where it began producing its own foam and diversifying its line of foam and spring mattresses. Currently, the brand is present in six Brazilian states and has certifications from IFBQ and Inmetro, serving customers in regions such as the North, Northeast, and Midwest.

The future spring factory, in addition to supplying the production line of the company itself, should also meet the demand of third parties, strengthening the regional upholstery chain and reducing dependence on inputs that currently come from outside the State.

“We need to regionalize. Bring development beyond the large centers and provide conditions for the interior to grow,” said businessman Amaurício Rodrigues. The estimate is that the new unit, combined with the existing one, will generate about 120 direct jobs, contributing to the strengthening of the furniture chain in the State.

The next step will be a technical visit to the areas of interest, with the support of the regional manager of Marabá, Mirla da Dourado. The Company reinforces its commitment to sustainable economic development and to strengthening the Pará industry in all regions.
