At the Coordination of Control of Goods in Transit of Itinga, from the State Department of Finance (Sefa), in Dom Eliseu, a municipality in northeastern Pará, two central air conditioning systems were seized on Wednesday (30), valued at R$ 1,089,903.99, originating from Canoas (RS) and destined for Belém (PA).

“The operation was covered by two sales invoices issued to two distinct companies located in the capital of Pará. Since both recipients are final consumers not contributing to ICMS, the collection of the difference between the interstate and internal rate (Difal) is due upon the entry of the goods into Pará,” explained coordinator Rafael Brasil.

A Seizure and Deposit Term (TAD) was drawn up, amounting to R$ 261,567.70, corresponding to the tax and the fine for the infraction.

Bovine tallow - During an inspection also conducted on Wednesday by state revenue inspectors at the Coordination of Control of Goods in Transit of Carajás, in the southeast of the State, 154,200 kg of bulk bovine tallow were seized. The goods were valued at R$ 981,996.00.

The seizure occurred at the Carajás Railway tax post in Marabá during an approach to four vehicles transporting goods from Xinguara (PA) to Rio Grande do Sul.

“The goods were accompanied by invoices indicating operations with a specific purpose of export. However, after document analysis and consultation with Sefa's systems, it was found that the recipient company is not registered as an exporter, according to CNPJ records. Thus, the operations were disregarded as exports and reclassified as common interstate shipments, subject to the advance collection of ICMS at the time of leaving Pará territory,” informed the unit coordinator, Cicinato Oliveira.

Four Seizure and Deposit Terms were drawn up, totaling R$ 164,390.24, related to the ICMS and the fine.

Flip-flops - State revenue inspectors from Sefa seized 4,872 pairs of counterfeit flip-flops on Wednesday. The action took place at the Coordination of Control of Goods in Transit of Gurupi, located in the municipality of Cachoeira do Piriá, on the border of Pará with Maranhão.

“A box truck was approached, and the driver presented an invoice originating from Barbalha (CE) and destined for Ananindeua (PA), with generic information about the cargo. The inspection decided to inspect the goods, and when the vehicle was opened, the known brand flip-flops were found. The inspection contacted the National Brand Protection Group, and after analyzing the cargo, a report was issued certifying that they were counterfeit goods,” informed the unit coordinator, Gustavo Bozola.

The 56 bales contained 4,872 pairs of flip-flops. The total value of the cargo was estimated at R$ 243,112.80, and a Seizure and Deposit Term was drawn up, amounting to R$ 64,668.00. The goods will be handed over to the Civil Police to investigate any potential illegalities.
