Interested parties must fill out the documents available on the agency's website and send them to the email [email protected] by August 8.
Registrations for the Volunteering Program in Conservation Units (UCs), coordinated by the Institute of Forest Development and Biodiversity of Pará (Ideflor-Bio), have been extended. The initiative focuses on the Utinga Camillo Vianna State Park in Belém. Interested parties must fill out the documents available on the agency's website and send them to the email [email protected] by August 8.
The program aims to promote environmental education and encourage responsible public use of the UC through the voluntary participation of students and professionals in the fields of Pedagogy, Biology, Tourism, Natural Sciences, and related areas. Selected volunteers will work directly with visitors to the Park, with an emphasis on educational activities aimed at students from public schools.
A total of 20 positions will be offered, with activities scheduled between August 18, 2025, and August 18, 2026. The schedule will be adapted according to the availability of participants, with the possibility of working in the morning or afternoon shifts, from Monday to Friday. In addition to specific training, volunteers will receive a participation certificate issued by Ideflor-Bio at the end of the activity period.
Belonging - According to the president of Ideflor-Bio, Nilson Pinto, the proposal is to increase societal engagement in environmental protection. “The UCs are public assets and require active participation from society to be fully valued and protected. With volunteering, we create a bridge between environmental management and the citizen, encouraging social protagonism in the conservation of the Amazon,” he emphasized.
Among the prerequisites for participating in the selection are basic knowledge about ecosystems, biodiversity, sustainability, impacts, and environmental legislation. This knowledge can be demonstrated through courses, previous experiences, academic training, or participation in projects in the area. The selection process will be conducted through a curriculum analysis, with a maximum score of 70 points.
Learning - According to Júlio Meyer, manager of the Administrative Region of Belém at Ideflor-Bio, volunteering offers a unique opportunity for learning and engagement with the environmental reality of the city. “It is a formative experience that brings the citizen closer to the Conservation Units and strengthens the sense of belonging to the Utinga Park. We hope to receive committed individuals willing to act as multipliers of environmental knowledge,” he stated.
The list of selected candidates will be published on the Institute's website on August 11. Candidates must fill out a form and attach documents such as a student bond declaration, certificates or diplomas, as well as ID, CPF, and the mandatory terms provided in the notice. More information can be obtained via the email of the Belém Region Management: [email protected].
Located in the heart of the capital of Pará, the Utinga Camillo Vianna State Park is one of Brazil's main urban UCs, playing a significant ecological role in climate regulation and water supply for the metropolitan region of Belém. With the implementation of the Volunteering Program, Ideflor-Bio reinforces its commitment to valuing civil society as an agent of environmental transformation.
