The Government of the State of Pará, through the Technical Assistance and Rural Extension Company (Emater-Pará), benefited more than 25 thousand family farmers in the first seven months of 2025 with the release of R$ 21.9 million in credit lines such as the Constitutional Fund for Financing the North (FNO), the National Program for Strengthening Family Agriculture (Pronaf), the National Program for Support to Medium Rural Producers (Pronampe), the More Food Program, among other public policies. The data comes from the System for Monitoring Technical Assistance and Rural Extension Activities (Sisater-Pará).

The services reached family farmers, non-family farmers, settlers, indigenous people, and quilombolas, in various productive chains such as cocoa, açaí, cassava, vegetables, animal husbandry, and agroforestry systems, in addition to support for environmental and productive regularization.

Stories that transform lives - Suely Guedes, a poultry farmer and açaí producer in Portel, Marajó, is one of the beneficiaries. "My family and I are twenty-seven active women, who are realizing our dreams through the guidance received from technicians and engineers from Emater here in Portel," she celebrated. The partnership with Emater allowed the construction of a poultry house with a capacity for 500 chickens and improvements in açaí management in the floodplain region.

"My finances increased by 50% and are allowing me to realize a dream of building a boat with my son, to take the products of our family farming to the cities. In addition, we are building a semi-industrial kitchen, so that the women in our community can work and improve our quality of life," concluded Suely.

In Breves, Josilane Mapuá was benefited with Pronaf Floresta credit. "We were benefited by this project for the management of açaí groves and it greatly improved our production. Through Emater, we will also receive productive support for raising chickens. We also work with andiroba oil and in August we will start fish production, with a hatchery that will be installed here," she reported.

Valuing family farming - With almost 60 years of history, Emater-Pará works to bring knowledge, training, and access to public policies to small producers. "Emater operates in the field to bring these improvements to family farmers, showing that the State brings development to the field, so that this translates into improved work, productivity, transforming lives throughout Pará and valuing the quality food that reaches our tables daily," highlighted the president of Emater, Joniel Abreu.

"The role of the Government of Pará, through Emater, is to increasingly value farming families, who seek financial autonomy and drive the entire economy of our state," he added.

Josilane reinforces the role of technical assistance. "Emater helps us both in learning through training and in accessing financing. The Emater office in Breves is working with fifty families for açaí management and will bring the training. It will improve even more with fish farming, which will also help us with food and family income," she concluded.
