State General Comptroller promotes lecture on racial literacy
The Alumiar project provided training for employees aimed at strengthening the fight against racism in the organizational environment

With the aim of promoting the training of employees, the State General Comptroller (CGE-PA) held, on the morning of this Wednesday (06), another edition of the Alumiar Project, which took place at the headquarters of the state control agency in Belém.
The program included a lecture by the vice-coordinator of the Graduate Program in Law at the Federal University of Pará (UFPA), Sandra Guimarães, who delivered a lecture on the theme "Racial literacy: an educational approach in the context of public service."
During the program, the specialist addressed the historical aspects related to structural racism in Brazil, including the impacts on the job market, in the context of interpersonal relationships and organizations, as well as the development of strategies aimed at strengthening the anti-racist struggle.

The teacher also emphasized that racial literacy involves the development of skills to identify, analyze, and combat racism in all its forms. In addition to involving a continuous process of learning and awareness about racial issues.
"It is important to address this topic, as institutions play an important role in confronting racism, and this initiative by CGE-PA is essential to bring the discussion of racial literacy, as it is through it that it is possible to reveal the various anti-racist practices that are often embedded in the organizational environment and are not seen," highlighted UFPA professor Sandra Guimarães.
Awareness - According to the state comptroller, Marcos Cantuária, the realization of this edition of the Alumiar project, which addressed racial literacy, is an important step to train the employees of the state control agency, reinforce the strategy of good practices, and commitment to ethics. "Without a doubt, it is important that we can understand this topic more deeply, as CGE-PA contributes to raising awareness about the fight against racism, especially in the organizational environment," he emphasized.
