Artran ensures safe water transport for over 150,000 passengers during Summer Operation 2025
The report highlights the performance of the Regulatory Agency with intense oversight, guarantee of rights, and safety during the month of July
The Summer Operation 2025 recorded one of the busiest months in intermunicipal water transport in Pará. According to the report released this Thursday (7) by the Regulatory and Control Agency for Public Services (Artran), 152,018 passengers were transported by rivers just in July, the school vacation period.
In the first half (1st to 15th), the system served 70,803 passengers, with 7,638 free rides, 1,169 children carried in arms, and 12 incidents reported. Between July 16 and 31, there were 81,215 passengers, 9,127 free rides, 1,641 children in arms, and 14 incidents.

The General Director of Artran, Luciano Dias, emphasizes that "the Summer Operation is one of the moments when the Agency demonstrates its mission to regulate and oversee intermunicipal transport to ensure safety, accessibility, and respect for citizens' rights. Our commitment is to be present where the passenger needs us the most."

Movement - The survey shows that the Belém Hydroviary Terminal concentrated the highest flow, with over 55,000 passengers. Next were the Barcarena Express Port (Ver-o-Peso), with nearly 20,000 boardings, and the Amazonat Port (Ver-o-Peso), which totaled over 17,000.
"In water transport, we intensified oversight to curb irregularities and provide peace of mind to families using the ports during the holidays. The numbers show that we managed to ensure safer and more organized trips for thousands of users," informs the Director of Oversight at Artran, Wildson Mello.

In July, Artran recorded 26 incidents. The main ones were related to the denial of free rides and the irregular transport of gas cylinders in closed trucks. Delays were also recorded, justified by inspections from the Navy, refueling of vessels, and the intense movement of passengers during boarding.
For the Technical Coordinator of Water Transport, Waldemar Frazão, the results confirm the Agency's commitment to safety. "Our role is to ensure that each passenger travels with dignity, has the right to free rides, and can come and go safely, comfortably, and quickly," says the coordinator.
