To play an essential role in opening space and intensifying new strategies aimed at reducing inequalities among the regions of the State and promoting the development of educational policies in an equal and equitable manner, the State Department of Education (Seduc) held a meeting on the afternoon of this Wednesday (6) with the Management Committee responsible for drafting the New State Education Plan (PEE) 2025–2035. The meeting continues the schedule of actions that will guide education in Pará over the next 10 years.

“Our focus is on a careful and centered look at the specificities of riverside communities, quilombolas, indigenous peoples, and education in the countryside as a whole. We recognize our challenges, both in the teaching-learning formats of Seduc and in the infrastructure and socioeconomic factors that directly impact students' access and retention in school. The construction of the State Education Plan requires collaborative dialogue, and we have managed to build a solid relationship, connecting different perspectives and realities to effectively implement this very important plan for education in Pará,” highlighted the Deputy Secretary of Network Management and Collaboration Regime of Seduc, Diego Maia.

The meeting included representatives from the State Education Council, the National Union of Municipal Education Directors (Undime), the National Union of Municipal Education Councils (Uncme), and the Education and Culture Commission of the Legislative Assembly of Pará.

“The reformulation of the State Education Plan (PEE) is necessary due to the end of the validity of the National Education Plan (PNE) and the current PEE. This requires new planning to guide investments, goals, and strategies for the next decade, ensuring the continuity of educational policies and meeting the needs of the State of Pará. The Management Committee, led by Seduc, has prioritized collective construction and listening to various social actors, ensuring broad participation at all stages, with the aim of strengthening a quality public education that is equitable and aligned with national guidelines,” emphasizes Maria Beatriz Mandelert Padovan, president of the Basic Education Chamber of the State Education Council of Pará.

According to its president, Profª Sandra Ataíde, Undime/PA “will always be willing to coordinate with all municipal education secretaries to ensure the collaboration regime among the federated entities and thus have the New Decennial Plan democratically elaborated.”

During this stage of the schedule, the work agenda, action plan, and internal regulations of the Committee were approved. By the end of 2025, new meetings are planned that will cover the following phases: the preparation of the diagnosis, identifying the main problems and sources of information for analysis; the definition of objectives and goals based on the previously identified problems, and finally, the formulation of strategies, proposing actions aimed at achieving the established objectives and goals.
