Hemopa holds first blood donation campaign at Usina da Paz in Benevides
Action by the Hemopa Foundation, in partnership with Seac, brought together volunteers this Friday (08) to reinforce the blood stocks of the state blood network

The Pará Center for Hemotherapy and Hematology Foundation (Hemopa), in partnership with the State Secretariat for Citizenship Articulation (Seac), held its first external blood donation campaign at Usina da Paz in Benevides, located in the Metropolitan Region of Belém, this Friday (08).
The action featured the infrastructure of a mobile unit and a collection trailer, providing more convenience to volunteers and expanding access to the service. The goal was to reinforce the blood stocks of the state blood network and encourage voluntary and regular donations, especially during periods of higher demand.
Inaugurated in May of this year, Usina da Paz in Benevides is part of the Territories for Peace (TerPaz) project by the State Government, which brings citizenship to communities in situations of social vulnerability. The complex concentrates essential services in the areas of health, education, culture, sports, justice, professional qualification, and public safety, functioning as a hub for social transformation in the municipality.

Marcela Silva, the social worker from the Donor Recruitment Management (Gecad), highlighted the importance of the partnership with Seac and the positive impact of decentralizing services. “Many people from the community have participated in previous campaigns in Benevides and have returned now to donate in this new space. It is a welcoming environment that brings donors closer to the Hemopa Foundation,” she stated.

For Dinely Vida, the coordinator of Humanization at the Benevides Health Department, the campaign also serves to raise awareness among the population. “The proposal is to raise awareness about the importance of blood donation, especially at a time when people have less time and are less involved with others. Every donor counts a lot for us,” she emphasized.
Resident of Benevides, donor Isaías Brasil made a point of participating. “Donating blood is an act of love and solidarity. Sometimes, all people need is a little encouragement. I hope my attitude inspires other residents of the city,” he said.
Service - The next external blood donation campaign by the Hemopa Foundation will be held next Tuesday (12), from 8 AM to 4 PM, at the 8th Military Region, located at Rua João Diogo, No. 458, Campina neighborhood, in Belém. The forecast is for 60 volunteers, with support from the mobile unit and the collection trailer.
