Community event brings together citizenship and health services and facilitates access to essential documents
Action organized by the Attorney General's Office celebrates the 40th anniversary of the institution with free services for the population

In celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Attorney General's Office of the State of Pará (PGE), a Community Citizenship and Health event was held in Belém this Saturday (09). The initiative, organized by the PGE in partnership with the State Departments of Public Health (Sespa) and Environment, Climate and Sustainability (Semas), and the Public Defender's Office (DPE), offered free issuance of documents, legal services, and health care to the population.
Attorney Camila Farinha explained that the action is part of a series of commemorative events. “This is our first Citizenship and Health Action. We brought together partners to offer essential services, such as issuing certificates, ID cards, document rectification, vaccinations, and legal guidance. It is a way to ensure rights that are often difficult to resolve during the week, in a faster and more accessible manner,” she informed.

Sewing professional Carla Jaliveira Silva took the opportunity to take care of her health and update her documentation. “I came to do quick tests and also to get my ID. It is very important to have this type of action for the community because we can't always take care of these services during the week,” she stated.

For Rosalina de Araújo Ferreira, a resident of Ponta de Pedras in the Marajó Archipelago, the community event helped resolve a situation that had dragged on for months. “I came to register my daughter in the father's name. In my city, there is no such service, and the process could take up to a year. Here it was much faster. It is a Father's Day gift for our family,” she shared.
Legal Assistance - The assistance also benefited people facing sensitive legal issues, such as teacher Juliane Veiga, who made a late registration of her mother's death. “I couldn't resolve it before, and I learned about this action through communication channels. This type of assistance is like a light at the end of the tunnel. The Public Defender's Office is providing a perfect service that helps people resolve painful situations in a more accessible way,” said Juliane.

According to Paulo Lhamas, coordinator of the PGE's assistance, the services of the Public Defender's Office facilitate the routine of the most vulnerable population, who cannot afford document costs that can reach R$ 300.00.
“We have same-day issuance of ID cards, second copies of certificates, legal services such as paternity acknowledgment, divorce, and document rectification. We also issue CPF, voter registration, and even pet IDs. The Public Defender's Office works to assist the most vulnerable population, who cannot afford high documentation costs. Today we carried out simultaneous actions in Belém (including the Mosqueiro district) and Ananindeua,” he informed.

The community event reinforced the importance of the joint action of agencies to bring citizenship and basic rights to those who need it most. “It is a union of institutional efforts. Several institutions from the State of Pará gathered to ensure, in an easier and faster way, services for the population,” concluded attorney Camila Farinha.
