The Civil Police of the State of Pará arrested the suspect for committing a series of rapes and a robbery-homicide in the municipality of Moju, in northeastern Pará. The arrest occurred as a result of the operation "Silence of the Innocents" launched on Monday (11) to execute a search and seizure warrant at the suspect's residence.

"We were able to identify the accused through the characteristics provided by the victims. In the investigations, it was determined that he acted as a serial predator, committing the crimes in the rural area of Moju, within a radius close to the house where he resides and where we also made his arrest," detailed delegate Mhoab Khayan, head of the Regional Superintendence of Baixo Tocantins.

The suspect arrived at the crime scenes using the same motorcycle that was seized during the operation. "He approached the victims, took them to secluded places, such as palm oil plantations, committed the rapes, and fled using the same vehicle," he added.

Understand the crimes
In total, the individual had five victims, one of robbery-homicide and four of rape. The most recent crime occurred on April 17 of this year, when the suspect took advantage of the vulnerability of a family whose vehicle was stopped on Highway PA-475 after falling into a hole. The criminal announced the robbery, took the three victims to a palm oil plantation, stole the amount of R$ 700.00 from the man, and raped the two women. He also killed the man who tried to defend the rape victims and fled the scene shortly after the crimes.

"During the course of the investigations, we were able to identify that he was the author of two other rapes that occurred in the same region on August 20 and November 21, 2024, against two teenagers. The success of the operation was ensured by the recognition of the suspect by all the victims, who knew him and confirmed his characteristics," continued delegate Mhoab.

At the man's residence, a cell phone, two motorcycles, and a homemade firearm were found and seized. The suspect and the materials were sent to the Homicide Police Station in Abaetetuba for the formalization of procedures. He is already at the disposal of the Judiciary.
