Codec and São Miguel do Guamá align actions to boost investments and strengthen the local economy
The first step of the partnership is the signing of the Protocol of Intentions, which will allow progress with the planned actions to attract investments and strengthen the local economy
Focusing on transforming potential into concrete results, the Economic Development Company of Pará (Codec) and the City Hall of São Miguel do Guamá began, this Wednesday (13), a strategic agenda that will prepare the municipality to receive new investments and expand opportunities for job and income generation.
The virtual meeting marked the starting point for the construction of a joint work plan. The first step will be the signing of the Protocol of Intentions, a fundamental stage for all planned actions to be executed, including a detailed socioeconomic survey and training of staff to attract investments.
Partnership step by step - From the municipality, municipal attorney Antônio Tobias Feitosa participated, who clarified some doubts and stated that he would present the presentation and all notes to Mayor Eduardo Pio X and the secretariat, so that together they can address the next steps of the action plan, starting with the signing of the Protocol of Intentions.
From Codec, Aline Tavares, manager of Development and Economic Studies; Sabrina Sena, manager of New Business Services; and Augusto César Anunciação, manager of Institutional Relations, responsible for presenting the work plan, were present.
The Company presented its operational model to the municipality, based on four fronts: promoting Pará as a destination for investment, encouraging the creation of policies for local development, and studying the technical feasibility of creating an incentivized economic area. The planning includes stages such as economic and social diagnosis, preparation of the Investor's Guide, creation of incentive legislation, and study for the implementation of an incentivized industrial area.
Aline Tavares emphasized that the work will be built jointly between Codec and the municipality, with the active participation of all local actors. She highlighted that the presence of entrepreneurs and businesspeople from the region is essential for the planned actions to align with real demands and strengthen the business environment.
Expected results - The work will be developed jointly between Codec and the local City Hall, with the participation of municipal secretariats. After the signing of the Protocol of Intentions, the schedule provides for the delivery of the preliminary report and the holding of the economic development seminar within 30 days, involving the city hall, associations, cooperatives, academies, and entities of the S System, in order to prospect data for the development of the subsequent stages of the work, which will be completed with the launch of the Investor's Guide in 120 days, and training in attracting investments in 150 days.
According to Augusto César Anunciação, the initiative puts São Miguel do Guamá on the radar of new opportunities. “Our role is to provide the tools, technical support, and necessary connections for the municipality to become more attractive and competitive,” he highlighted.
