Toll rates on the Viária Ring Road are defined; payment will start from this Friday (15)

Cars will pay R$ 12 at four toll plazas; motorcycles and official vehicles are exempt; check the complete table

The Regulatory and Control Agency for Public Transport Services of Pará (Artran) published, on the night of this Wednesday (13), in an extra edition of the Official State Gazette, the resolution that establishes the toll rates on state highways under the concession of the company Rota do Pará S.A. The charges will start from 0h this Friday (15) at four plazas, including the one located at km 22 of the Viária Ring Road, between Barcarena and Belém.

For vehicles of category 1: cars, pickup trucks, and vans with single axles, the toll will be R$ 12. Motorcycles, mopeds, motorized bicycles, and official vehicles of public agencies are exempt from the charge, with no need for prior registration. The values vary according to the type of vehicle and number of axles, reaching up to R$ 108 for trucks with nine axles.

Other plazas starting operation on the same date:

  • PA-150, km 52.6 – between Nova Ipixuna and Jacundá;
  • PA-150, km 112.8 – between Jacundá and Goianésia do Pará;
  • PA-252, km 31.9 – between Tailândia and Abaetetuba.

The sections where tolls will be charged have Operational Service Bases (BSO) and User Service Centers (SAU), offering ambulances, light and heavy tow trucks, inspection vehicles, water trucks, and 24-hour service by phone and WhatsApp: 0800 150 1150.

Contract review and financial balance

The general director of Artran, Luciano Dias, explains that the toll value was defined in accordance with the concession contract and analyzed together with SEINFRA and the independent verification company, to reach the disclosed rates.

“After several meetings, inspections on the highways, and feasibility studies between ARTRAN, SEINFRA, and the independent verifier, a consensus was reached on the rates, always in accordance with the contract, ensuring the necessary conditions for the concessionaire to maintain the quality and continuity of services, as well as ensuring more safety and comfort for users,” highlights Luciano.

Investments and improvements on the highways

Since the beginning of the concession, Rota do Pará has carried out services such as mowing and cleaning of the lanes, pavement recovery, signaling, drainage, and lighting. The plan also includes:

  • Restoration and duplication of sections;
  • Implementation of shoulders;
  • Construction of 11 pedestrian walkways;
  • Creation of 4 rest areas with bathrooms, Wi-Fi, and parking.

Concession covers 526 km of state highways

The concession contract was announced on July 31, 2024, in Moju, by the Government of Pará, through the State Department of Infrastructure and Logistics. It covers 526 km including sections of the highways PA-150, PA-252, PA-151, PA-475, PA-483 and the South Viária Ring Road of Belém.

Discounts and payment methods

  • Discounts of 5% to 50% for frequent users with a payment TAG in the vehicle;
  • Payment methods: cash, credit and debit card, PIX, TAG;
  • Accepted TAGs: Sem Parar, Taggs, ConectCar, Veloe;
  • Accredited banks: Banco do Brasil, Itaú, Santander, C6 Bank, Nubank, and Caixa

Exemption for vehicles rented by public agencies

Public agencies using rented vehicles must request exemption at least 10 business days in advance by email [email protected]. The documentation includes:

  • CRLV of the vehicle;
  • Rental contract (if any);
  • Request with vehicle and agency details;
  • Legal documents of the agency or foundation (if applicable).

The director of Artran emphasizes that the Agency works to ensure that all exemption and discount rules are clear and accessible. "This way, we ensure that public agencies and frequent users can benefit in a transparent and organized manner," concludes Luciano Dias.
