The Civil Police of the State of Pará launched, on the morning of this Thursday (14), the operation "Final Sentence", coordinated by the Directorate of Assistance to Vulnerable Groups (DAV), aimed at executing arrest warrants against those sentenced for domestic and gender-based violence crimes.

The arrests were made with the support of the Police Intelligence Center (NIP), the Interior Police Directorate (DPI), and the Coordination of Operations and Special Resources (CORE).

“The operation 'Final Sentence' is part of the operation 'Shamar - to combat violence against women due to gender', which is coordinated by the Ministry of Justice and Public Security (MJSP).
"Just today, we managed to carry out the arrest of ten people. The arrests that occurred from the 1st to the 13th of August total 43 arrested in the Metropolitan Region and in the interior of the State, with the involvement of the Metropolitan Police Directorate (DPM) and the Interior Police Directorate (DPI)," explained Delegate Emanuela Amorim, head of the DAV.

Coordinated by the Ministry of Justice and Public Security (MJSP), the operation "Shamar" takes place throughout the Pará territory from August 1st to September 4th. "We are in 'Lilac August' and, during this period, a large part of our actions is aimed at preventing violence against women due to gender, aiming to ensure the effectiveness of judicial decisions. The 53 arrests made during the 'Shamar' operation reinforce the institutional commitment to combating violence against women," continued the delegate.

The six people arrested in the RMB today were taken and presented at DEAM Belém, where they underwent standard procedures and are now at the disposal of the Judiciary. Those arrested in the interior of the state were taken to the specialized police station of the corresponding city.
Educational Actions
Throughout the year, especially in "Lilac August", civil police carry out educational and preventive actions aimed at society as a whole, guiding on how to proceed when there is a report of crimes against women.

“All DEAMs in the Metropolitan Region and in the interior of the state carry out educational actions highlighting the importance of recognizing the signs of violence, even if they are subtle, and reporting them as soon as possible. During the lectures, the teams also promote the Virtual DEAM, which can be accessed quickly and easily on any device with internet access. The Lower Tocantins region has three DEAMs, which are Cametá, Barcarena, and Abaetetuba, with the latter two being among the units that account for the highest number of procedures and services in the entire interior of the state. It is also worth noting that police stations in any municipality are equally equipped to assist women victims in vulnerable situations,” highlighted Delegate Bruna Vieira, assistant delegate of the DPI.
There are also ostensive and repressive actions carried out, ensuring the protection of victims and the accountability of aggressors.
