Government serves over 80 thousand people with 'Caravanas de Cidadania' actions
Services and guidance have already benefited residents of more than 120 municipalities in all regions of Pará

More than 80 thousand people have already been served, between 2023 and July of this year, by the actions of the "Caravanas de Cidadania", promoted by the Government of Pará, through the State Secretariat of Justice (Seju). Of the 144 municipalities in Pará, more than 120 have already been benefited with services in the 12 Integration Regions: Araguaia, Baixo Amazonas, Carajás, Guajará, Guamá, Lago de Tucuruí, Marajó, Rio Caeté, Rio Capim, Tapajós, Tocantins, and Xingu.
“The Caravanas are one of the pillars of our work, as they promote access to essential documents in all regions of Pará, especially for people in situations of social vulnerability. With a birth certificate or ID, for example, it is possible to schedule a medical appointment or request social benefits. That’s why we are developing and strengthening this service more and more,” emphasizes Evandro Garla, State Secretary of Justice.

In the Marajó Archipelago, the Caravanas reached all 17 municipalities. Assisted in Santa Cruz do Arari, Antônio Bandeira reports that he sought the government action “with the aim of obtaining my birth certificate and ID, and I succeeded without difficulties. I received all the attention and care. I can only thank for my new documents and the service provided.”
According to the Citizenship coordinator of Seju, Carol Lobato, among the main services sought in the Caravanas are: referral and issuance of documents, such as ID, birth certificate, and second copy of CPF, and the regularization of registration on the gov.br platform, which allows access to the digital work card and social insurance.

Partnerships - “When we arrive with the Caravana in a municipality, we work with the support of the city halls and associations to coordinate and publicize the services. We provide services, including for bedridden individuals, those in a vegetative state or injured, and elderly people who have mobility difficulties. We send teams to the person's home to collect fingerprints and proceed with the entire process,” informs the coordinator.
The Caravanas aim to promote awareness and education about citizenship and human rights, facilitating access to relevant services and information in more distant or isolated communities, and encouraging active civic participation, as well as the defense of individual and collective rights.
In July, the Caravanas de Cidadania conducted more than 3 thousand services for residents of the Integration Regions of Tocantins, Rio Caeté, and Marajó.
