Sefa seizes 16 tons of fish in Santarém
Joint action with the Military Police resulted in the retention of a load valued at over R$ 46 thousand in Baixo Amazonas
State tax auditors from the Pará State Department of Finance (Sefa) seized, last Friday (16), 16 tons of pirapitinga fish in Santarém, in Baixo Amazonas. The load was valued at R$ 46,449.20 and was being transported irregularly.
According to Sefa, the operation was carried out in conjunction with the intelligence of the Military Police. “In a joint operation with the intelligence of the Military Police, a vessel was intercepted in Santarém with 16 tons of fish. The load was accompanied by an invoice issued in the state of Amazonas for the state of Amazonas itself, that is, it indicated an internal operation, but the goods were retained in Pará. Given this fact, the fiscal document was disregarded and the Term of Seizure and Deposit (TAD) was made in the amount of R$ 22,239.88, referring to the tax and fine,” explained the coordinator of the goods in transit control unit of Tapajós, Roberto Mota.
Permanent inspection
Currently, Pará has eight units for controlling goods in transit, responsible for inspecting loads that enter and leave the state territory. The posts operate 24 hours a day and check both the transported products and the fiscal documentation.
When irregularities or absence of ICMS collection are identified, the Term of Seizure and Deposit (TAD) is drawn up, an instrument that ensures the collection of tax and fine, guaranteeing greater control and fiscal justice.
