The Cultural Foundation of Pará (FCP) chose the second day of the Pan Amazonian Book Fair and Multivoices to highlight the voices of Marajó at its booth.

Representing the mesoregion, writers and researchers from the municipality of Ponta de Pedras, in Marajó, launched books, promoted debates, autograph sessions, and talked with the public about the literary richness of the archipelago.

The author, writer, poet, and anthropologist, Marcos Samuel, says: “In the discussion, we will talk about literary anthologies in Marajó. For me, this moment is important so that people can have this more direct contact with us, writers, because here this dynamic of flow is very interesting,” highlights the marajoara.

Next Monday, the 18th, the program will highlight the talents of the Metropolitan Region of Belém.

Hope - Writer Wanda Monteiro, one of the honorees of this year's edition, visited the FCP space at the Fair and highlighted the importance of the Foundation's work in forming new readers.

“The Foundation has specific, necessary, and fundamental actions to encourage culture and reading, as one is linked to the other,” points out Wanda Monteiro.

She also reveals that seeing the community's adherence to the Pan Amazonian Book Fair makes her hopeful about the future of the nation.

“Yesterday, when they opened the gates, I saw a crowd wanting to enter at 8 am, and the feeling was one of hope because this Brazil still reads, because it is still possible for us to build a future with this portal, which is knowledge through books,” she says.

Children's - In addition to literary activities at the FCP space at the Pan Amazonian Fair, this Sunday the Foundation promoted a morning dedicated to the children's and youth audience. The program took place at the Multi Voices Arena and started at 9 am with the presentation “The Bubble Blowers,” with Pedro Bolhas, enchanting children of various ages.

Mrs. Maria José brought her grandchildren to enjoy the fair in order to show them literature and children's performances.

"We chose to come so my grandchildren could have fun, in addition to showing books and artistic performances. This is a program that is for all audiences, both for children and for elderly people,” she said.

Also at the Arena, there were theatrical, musical performances, and storytelling. The activities were conducted by the FCP teams that work in the state public libraries.
