Interactive totems ‘Book Search’ facilitate navigation for the public at the 28th Pan-Amazonian Book and Multivoices Fair
Tool allows locating works, publishers, cultural programming, and services during the largest literary event in the Northern region

One of the novelties of the 28th Pan-Amazonian Book and Multivoices Fair, held by the Government of Pará through the State Secretariat of Culture (Secult), is the “Book Search” devices, interactive totems spread throughout the Hangar to enhance the public's experience.
In total, there are five digital points available in the fair space. Through them, visitors can search for the book title or publisher name and identify at which booth to find the desired work. Additionally, the totems also serve as event guides, providing information about cultural programming, food court, restrooms, exits, Multivoices Arena, Author's Point, and other services.
Understand how it works
Right on the device's home screen, the public has access to three options: “Fair Programming,” “Your Book,” and “Service.”
In “Programming,” it is possible to obtain information about the programming that takes place each day, the location, and the date. The fair map is also available for better understanding.
In the “Your Book” option, the public can search for the titles, authors, or publishers they are looking for. In the search, the system will show how and where to acquire the copy, with the booth location indicated on the fair map.
In the “Service” tab, it is possible to see on the map where each space is located at the Fair. Emergency exits, restrooms, parking, food court, police station, firefighters, and press are some of the options.
The novelty is a partnership with the National Association of Bookstores (ANL) and RPS Events.
Public approves the novelty
For many attendees, the tool has already become a differentiator. Clepson Ribeiro, 20, who visited the fair for the first time with his Pedagogy class from the University of the Amazon, highlighted the practicality of the resource. “I liked it because, with keywords, we can find what we are looking for. I searched for ‘didactics,’ and the book appeared with the photo, which helps a lot to find it at the booth. This optimizes time because we go straight to where we need and buy it,” said the university student.
Student Emily Pereira, 19, also approved the novelty. “I found it wonderful because it is more accessible. We already know the location and don’t need to search booth by booth. It’s quick, practical, and saves time. I go straight to where I want,” she stated.

With programming until August 22, the Pan-Amazonian Book and Multivoices Fair continues to offer the public cultural activities, social spaces, and now, technological tools that enhance accessibility and organization of the event.
