Sectet launches Startup Pará 2025 Innovation Marathons for impactful solutions in Pará
The initiative encompasses themes such as Bioeconomy, Biotechnology and Sustainability; Smart Cities; and Technology and Artificial Intelligence

The Government of the State of Pará, through the Secretariat of Science, Technology and Higher, Professional and Technological Education (Sectet), in partnership with the Guamá Science and Technology Park (PCT Guamá) and with the support of the Startup Pará Program, launches the 2025 Innovation Marathons. The initiative aims to transform ideas into innovative businesses, connecting students, entrepreneurs, professionals, and local communities in a free journey of learning and development.
The program's proposal is to travel to more than five cities in the State, bringing innovation and opportunities to different regions. The action is structured in two main stages: the Innovation Marathons – in-person meetings where multidisciplinary teams will have 12 hours to develop solutions for real challenges – and the Selected Projects Incubation phase, which offers financial support scholarships, specialized mentoring, a network of strategic partners, and support until the development of the MVP (Minimum Viable Product) and the acquisition of the first customer.

Participants will be able to work in three strategic thematic tracks: Bioeconomy, Biotechnology and Sustainability; Smart Cities; and Technology and Artificial Intelligence. According to the Sectet secretary, Victor Dias, the program is a milestone for the innovation ecosystem in Pará.
“The Innovation Marathons are more than an event: they are a gateway for young people and professionals from all regions of the State to transform knowledge into concrete solutions for society. Our goal is to democratize access to innovation and show that Pará is a fertile territory for ideas that generate impact and sustainable development,” he states.
For the coordinator of Startup Pará, Renato Cortez, the initiative strengthens the connection between local talents and market opportunities. “We are bringing a practical and inclusive model of innovation. It is not necessary to have a ready team or a formed idea to participate. The most important thing is the willingness to collaborate and learn. We believe that by uniting Bioeconomy, smart cities, and artificial intelligence, we can accelerate projects that can transform local realities and, at the same time, achieve national projection,” he points out.
The Startup Pará 2025 Innovation Marathons will take place in five different municipalities, starting on August 30 in Belém and Bragança (Bioeconomy), and continuing in September in Santarém, Tucuruí, and Canaã dos Carajás. Registration is free, and interested parties can sign up through the website, access here.
