The Regional Education Directorate (DRE) of Santarém promoted the 1st edition of the Student Run and Walk, bringing together hundreds of students from the state public network in an event marked by energy, integration, and appreciation of sports in the school environment.

The activity took place around the City Park and included routes of 3 km, 5 km, and a 1 km route adapted for students with disabilities, ensuring inclusive participation for all. The event involved students, teachers, managers, families, and the school community, reaffirming the state network's commitment to the integral formation of students.

Organized by the School Sports and Culture Center (NDCE), under the coordination of Professor Roberta Lages, the initiative had the support of the technical-pedagogical team of the DRE and the participating school units.

According to the regional education leader, Professor Dayan Serique, the action goes beyond encouraging sports practice. “The Student Run and Walk represents more than a sporting activity. It is a statement of the public education commitment to the full development of our students. Sports, when integrated into pedagogical practice, directly contributes to the ethical, emotional, and social formation of students. It is through initiatives like this that we reaffirm our sensitive and strategic view of integral and inclusive education.”

Participants received bib numbers with electronic timing chips, and the top finishers were awarded medals and symbolic recognition. The action also had the support of public agencies, local sponsors, and professionals from health, security, and logistics areas, ensuring the quality and organization of the event.

The positive impact of the Student Run and Walk highlights youth protagonism and reinforces the public policies of the Government of Pará aimed at well-being, inclusion, and strengthening school bonds through sports and citizenship.

The 1st Student Run and Walk, held by the DRE, was part of the commemorative program for Student Day.
