Santarém Sports and Leisure Complex construction reaches final stage
With 96% of services completed, the new space is located in an area of approximately 6,500 m²
The second stage of the Santarém Sports and Leisure Complex is in its final stretch. A project of the Government of Pará, in partnership with the municipal government, the public facility located in front of the City Park is another important space for the care of physical and mental well-being for all ages, providing a better quality of life for the people of Santarém.
“The State Government also ensures investment in projects that encourage sports and leisure activities. In the case of the Santarém Complex, it will not only be a place for physical activities but will also guarantee gatherings of families and friends on a daily basis. Furthermore, the space provides a dignified place for these people to work and earn their livelihood,” says the Secretary of Public Works, Ruy Cabral.
With 96% of services completed, the Santarém Sports and Leisure Complex is located in an area of approximately 6,500 m² and features a gastronomic space for food trucks; a kids' area; four courts for sports such as beach tennis and footvolley; a synthetic grass field for society football and a calisthenics area.
“I have been walking around here for eight years and I see that the construction is excellent. We will be able to enjoy everything; all these spaces are important as they serve children, adults, and the elderly. My friends and I have been looking forward to the outdoor gym. People need areas like these for a better quality of life,” evaluates housewife Ana Santos, 63 years old.
The project also includes the revitalization of the football field, the multipurpose court, and the outdoor gym; construction of a maloca for capoeira; walkways and bike paths; benches and trash cans; as well as parking and urbanization of the area.
Mirante da Serra do Saubal – In 2024, the Government of Pará delivered the Mirante da Serra do Saubal in Santarém, yet another space with infrastructure and leisure that ensured a new tourist spot with safety for the municipality and the Lower Amazon Integration Region, enhancing the local landscape.
The viewpoint features a contemplation area and architectural pieces of regional culture, as well as a children's leisure area that allows interaction, recreation, and quality of life for the population.
