A cargo of 51 cubic meters (m³) of wood was seized by state revenue inspectors from the State Department of Finance (Sefa) on Thursday (21) at the Coordination of Control of Goods in Transit in Gurupi, the municipality of Cachoeira do Piriá, in northeastern Pará, on the border of Pará with Maranhão. The merchandise, valued at R$ 50,502, had departed from Trairão, in southwestern Pará, heading to Natal (RN).

Cargo of wood left southwestern Pará towards the capital of Rio Grande do Norte

“Invoices for sawn wood were presented. The inspection decided to conduct a physical inspection of the cargo and found the quantity of 51 m³ of sawn wood from the species Timborana and Guajará, as specified in the invoices and forest guides. It was also noted in the tax documents that the taxpayer attached two credit homologation certificates, which were not found in the system. Furthermore, the company is registered under the Simples Nacional, which, according to current legislation, does not grant the right to credit homologation,” explained the coordinator of the tax unit, Gustavo Bozola.

Another irregularity found was the payment related to the ICMS of the freight, which was not located in the system. To ensure the collection of the tax and fine, the Term of Seizure and Deposit (TAD) was drawn up, amounting to R$ 16,064.66.
