State strengthens partnership with the community at the inauguration of the Conseg board in Santarém
The Community Council works in partnership with the Government of Pará in controlling violence, implementing community projects, and expanding social integration
The Government of Pará, through the Regional Government Secretariat of Baixo Amazonas (SRGBA), in the west, participated in the inauguration of the new board of the Community Security Council (Conseg) of the Greater Area of the New Republic, in Santarém, on Thursday night (21). The ceremony was attended by the regional secretary of Government of Baixo Amazonas, Nélio Aguiar, who represented the state government.

The Conseg of the Greater Area of the New Republic brings together various neighborhoods in the South Zone region, representing thousands of families, strengthening the bond between the community and security forces. Nineteen members elected by the local population were inaugurated. Clodomilson de Almeida Lima took on the role of general coordinator, with Ambrózio Brito Ferreira as vice.
During the event, all members received certificates and took an oath, reaffirming their commitment to promoting safety and quality of life.

Partnership - Secretary Nélio Aguiar highlighted the importance of integrated action between the public power and the community. “Community Security Councils are valuable instruments because they bring the community closer to the police and the Government. This partnership ensures more effectiveness in security actions, strengthens prevention, and brings concrete results for the well-being of the population. The Government of Pará believes that public safety is achieved through dialogue, integration, and social participation,” he stated.
According to the new general coordinator Clodomilson de Almeida Lima, “we have the challenge of representing the community's demands and working side by side with the security forces to find solutions. The Conseg is the voice of the population in this dialogue, and our board is committed to acting with responsibility, dedication, and transparency. We have great partners like the Military and Civil police, as well as other public security institutions.”
The Consegs play a strategic role in preventing crime, mediating conflicts, and supporting the Military and Civil police. Among the advantages of this partnership are the strengthening of violence control, the implementation of community projects, and the expansion of social integration, always for the benefit of the population.
