Donations are delivered to the Calabriano Special Shelter as a commemorative action for the 40th anniversary of the PGE
The donations were the result of a solidarity scavenger hunt, promoted internally at the PGE, involving prosecutors and staff

The Attorney General's Office (PGE), since the beginning of this year, has been promoting citizenship and solidarity actions to mark the celebrations for the 40th anniversary of the institution. One way to involve not only the staff of the house but the community as a whole in its anniversary programming and to strengthen the institutional relationship with the society of Pará.
Following this programming, more than 240 items, including sheets, towels, and pillowcases, were delivered to the Calabriano Special Shelter on the morning of this Tuesday (26), a non-profit institution that maintains activities, in partnership with the State Government, in the educational, social assistance, and health areas, welcoming children and adolescents with disabilities of physical, neurological, and sensory causes. Currently, the place houses 35 young residents and more than 300 children and adolescents, aged 0 to 13 years, who attend the house and receive neuropsychomotor rehabilitation.
This year, the place completes 19 years of existence. “Some children who arrive here at the shelter become adolescents and adults with us when they are not adopted. Our goal is to provide a quality of life for these children. So, donations like this mean a lot to us because we have a very large number of children in need. They need a clean towel daily, a sanitized bed. So, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for this donation,” said Soraya Guimarães, director of the Calabriano Shelter.
Solidarity scavenger hunts – The donations were the result of a solidarity scavenger hunt, promoted internally at the PGE, involving prosecutors and staff, with the aim of collecting as many sheets, pillowcases, fitted sheets, towels, and face towels as possible to be donated. A total of 810 items were collected. Of these, 240 were allocated to the Calabriano Shelter. The remainder will be delivered to other non-profit institutions.
“This is a very important action, right? It is one of the corporate actions for the 40th anniversary of the institution. I hope it is just a moment. These moments must bring awareness to our institution, to our staff and prosecutors, about the importance of contributing to improve people's lives. This action is the least we can do, very little compared to what they need and what should be done. I am very satisfied with this, I feel very fulfilled as a person and as a public servant,” celebrated State Prosecutor Roland Massoud, a member of the Organizing Committee for the 40th anniversary celebrations of the PGE.
This was the second solidarity scavenger hunt promoted by the Attorney General's Office in celebration of the 40th anniversary of the agency. The first was held in April of this year, with the aim of collecting books and joining efforts with the campaign promoted by the Pará Sanitation Company (Cosanpa). On that occasion, the PGE collected more than 3,000 children's and youth books.
