Construction of the new Diagnostic and Therapeutic Support Service at HC is already 60% complete
With investment from the State Government, the space will expand services to the population, in addition to ensuring jobs and income during the execution of the works

The construction of the new Diagnostic and Therapeutic Support Service (SADT) of the Gaspar Vianna Clinical Hospital Foundation (FHCGV) in Belém has reached 60% completion and is already beginning to transform the structure that will be delivered to the population. The space, responsible for conducting essential exams for monitoring patients in cardiology, nephrology, and psychiatry, is being completely remodeled to ensure more comfort, speed, and quality in service.

More comfort and service - Among the main improvements is the acquisition of a new state-of-the-art tomography machine, which will allow for faster and more accurate diagnoses, especially in cardiac cases. Currently, the sector serves about 200 patients per day, and with the completion of the works, the expectation is that it will increase to 300 daily attendances.
For the head nurse of the service, Danielle Chagas, the modernization represents a milestone for patients and professionals. “The new SADT space will bring structural advances that will significantly improve service to users. In addition to increasing the capacity for care, we will have modern equipment and a more humanized environment, which offers more comfort to patients and better working conditions for the teams,” she highlighted.

Jobs and income - The positive impact is also reflected in the economy of Belém. The execution of the work, carried out with resources from the Government of Pará, has already guaranteed about 40 direct jobs for construction workers. Among them is bricklayer Nazareno Souza, 50, who found an opportunity in the construction after months of unemployment.
“It was a door opened by the government for us, construction workers. This job has helped many people because this is how we support our families,” said the worker.
The project was designed to combine functionality and hospitality. The new structure will be expanded and will have more procedure and exam rooms – the number will increase from 12 to 20 – in addition to specific improvements such as a recovery area with an exclusive bathroom for endoscopy and a recovery area dedicated to X-ray and tomography. A bilateral command room for these exams has also been designed, which will ensure greater efficiency.
The new reception will also play a central role in welcoming patients. The space will be expanded, with ten user service stations and areas adapted to direct patients more comfortably, such as a children's area, diaper changing room, and breastfeeding room.

In addition to the SADT, the work also includes the renovation of the hospital's general reception, with adaptation of the Internal Regulation Center (NIR) area, expanding the physical space for better performance of the sector.
Exams offered
With completion expected in the coming months, the population using the Unified Health System (SUS) will have access to a more modern, humanized service prepared to meet the growing demand for exams. Among them are X-rays, ultrasound, tomography, echocardiogram, electrocardiogram, MAPA, Holter, stress test, endoscopy, colonoscopy, electroencephalogram, spirometry, and vascular Doppler.
