Oriximiná Regional Hospital conducts training for teachers on the Lucas Law
The objective of the action was to provide basic first aid knowledge to the teachers of the Municipal School Professor Amélia Ferrari, based on the legislation
The Oriximiná Menino Jesus Regional Hospital (HRMJ) held a training session on Tuesday (26) aimed at the teachers of the Municipal School of Early Childhood Education Professor Amélia Ferrari, focusing on the Lucas Law (Law No. 13.722/2018).
The legislation mandates that schools and children's recreation facilities conduct annual training for teachers and staff in basic first aid. The regulation emerged after the death of 10-year-old Lucas Begalli, a victim of asphyxiation during a school trip in 2017, highlighting the importance of professionals prepared to act in emergency situations.
The activity was organized by the HRMJ Humanization Committee and included theoretical training and practical workshops on first aid in childhood. During the event, teachers received guidance on how to handle incidents such as choking, falls, trauma, burns, and cardiac arrest.
The manager of the Municipal School Amélia Ferrari, Alcilene Cardoso Coelho, evaluated the initiative positively. “This project has only enriched our experiences and skills regarding first aid, which are essential, especially in childhood, where there is a higher likelihood of incidents occurring,” she said.
Alcilene Coelho also highlighted the relevance of the practical part of the training. “Our professionals were able to effectively practice the techniques learned from the theory explained by the hospital team.”
According to the president of the Humanization Committee, nurse Nayana Azevedo, the proposal was to bring health closer to education, reinforcing safety in the school environment. “Our intention was to offer this training so that teachers are prepared to act in emergency situations, ensuring more safety for the children,” she stated.
