State Government promotes dialogues between ombudsmen of Pará and strengthens integration
Currently, Pará has more than 50 ombudsmen and in September, the implementation of four more is planned: Scientific Police, ParáPaz, Sedap, and CPH
About 100 people participated in the thematic meeting "Ombudsmen and Social Protagonism – An action that transforms," promoted by the General Ombudsman of the State (OGE), this Wednesday (27), at the auditorium of the Metropolitan University Center of the Amazon (Unifamaz), in Belém. The aim of the event is to promote dialogue between the ombudsmen and strengthen the integration of the network.
"The promotion of dialogues seeks, above all, to improve, more and more, the quality of service to the citizen, in addition to strengthening public policies in the sector and also the use of new technologies, to add value to our work and ensure more dynamism for the ombudsmen of Pará. We always reinforce that the Ombudsman is not focused on complaints, but a network of access to information that truly helps the population," emphasizes Nilma Lima, the state ombudsman.
The event's program includes, among the activities, the lectures: 'Ombudsman: trajectory, mission, and reflection in times of AI' and 'Contemporary Ombudsmen'. Responsible for opening the event, Judge Claudemiro Souza, from the 2nd Court of Penedo and curator of the Center for Culture and Memory of the Court of Justice of Alagoas, addressed the history of ombudsmen, their evolution, and functioning as an effective bridge between two sectors, the people and public administration.
"The ombudsman gains importance as it meets the demand that reaches it. So, when it manages to address claims, complaints, suggestions, praises, and other possibilities, it makes the citizen increasingly trust the role of the institution. This importance has been seen here in Pará, with a strengthened operation. These social gains are essential and indispensable," highlights the judge.
The ombudsman of the Court of Accounts of the State of Pará (TCE), Rosa Egídia, celebrated the event's realization. "The OGE deserves congratulations for the initiative to bring together in this network the ombudsmen of public agencies, which act as a channel between society and the public power. With events like this, we have the opportunity to dialogue and balance our planning actions, understanding the aspirations of the population. In the best sense of public governance, the TCE can contribute to the public power, including suggesting public policies that citizens aspire to, in addition to overseeing them," she emphasizes.
With more than 20 years of experience in the area, the ombudsman of the State Health Department of Pará (Sespa), Andrea Costa, explains the strategic role alongside the Unified Health System (Sus), especially in disseminating health information and mediating the correct access of users to the system's flow.
"Nowadays, the Ombudsman is not an isolated service; from this, we understand the need for organized network work, in addition to strengthening and addressing issues that are linked to this network as a whole. This exchange, promoted at the event, is fundamental for the ombudsmen to function and have resolution. The work of the OGE, whether in the implementation or expansion of the service in other agencies, greatly helps in this process," she comments.
Ombudsmen - Currently, Pará has 53 ombudsmen, and in September, the implementation of ombudsmen is also planned in the Scientific Police of Pará, ParáPaz Foundation, State Secretariat for Agricultural Development and Fisheries (Sedap), and the Ports and Waterways Company of the State of Pará (CPH).
