Cosanpa wins two awards at the ESG Amazon 2025 Award
Environmental sustainability and social inclusion initiatives ensured the Company's recognition as a highlight among public companies
The Government of Pará, through the Companhia de Saneamento do Pará (Cosanpa), stood out in the 13th edition of the ESG Amazon Award, promoted by the Association of Sales and Marketing Executives of Brazil – Pará Section (ADVB-PA). The ceremony took place this Wednesday (27) in Belém and awarded Cosanpa in two categories: Environmental and Social, in the Public Company modality.

The recognition reaffirms the Company's commitment to management practices that combine social and environmental responsibility, innovation, and effective public policies aimed at the well-being of the population and urban sustainability.
Sustainability and access to drinking water
In the Environmental category, the initiative of installing free hydration points in public areas of Belém, such as Utinga Park, Porto Futuro, and City Park, was awarded. The action aims to encourage conscious water consumption and reduce the use of plastic bottles.
With about eight months of operation, the hydration point at Utinga Park — the first to be delivered — has already prevented the consumption of more than 50,000 plastic containers, promoting direct benefits to the environment and the health of the population frequenting these spaces.
Social reintegration through work
In the Social category, the awarded project was Acuaré, carried out in partnership with the State Secretariat for Penitentiary Administration (Seap). The initiative promotes the social reintegration of people deprived of liberty through job offers in Cosanpa units.
With nearly 10 years of execution, the project has already benefited more than 50 inmates, reinforcing the public sector's role in creating opportunities and reducing criminal recidivism.
Institutional recognition
The Director of People and Logistics at Cosanpa, Paloma Lins, represented the Company at the ceremony and highlighted the value of the awards.
“These are projects made by the various hands of our employees that deliver sustainability and social inclusion, with the provision of free water at our hydration points and employability of people deprived of liberty in our units. These are achievements that make us very happy as a public company of the State,” she stated.
The president of ADVB-PA, Leandro Daher, emphasized the relevance of the award for strengthening the image of the Amazon as a territory of sustainable solutions.
“Recognizing and valuing practices that unite sustainability, social responsibility, and governance, showing Brazil and the world that the Amazon can indeed be a protagonist of innovative and sustainable solutions,” he highlighted.
In addition to Cosanpa, 16 other companies from the public and private sectors were recognized in the Environmental, Social, and Governance categories. Created in 2001, the ESG Amazon Award aims to value initiatives that generate a positive impact on the environment and society, contributing to the balanced development of the region.
