State Government delivers certificates for the Specialized Course in Collective Passenger Transport
Detran's training prepares more qualified drivers and promotes efficient and safe collective transport

The State Government held, last Thursday (28), the delivery of certificates to participants of the Specialized Course in Collective Passenger Transport, completed from April 22 to 30, 2025. The course was conducted by the State Traffic Department (Detran), which trained 35 drivers. The certificates were handed out by Governor Helder Barbalho and Deputy Governor Hana Ghassan during the inauguration of the Usina da Paz in the municipality of Moju.
Conducted by Detran, the course aimed to provide comprehensive and specialized training for drivers of collective passenger transport vehicles, aiming to enhance technical, behavioral, and regulatory skills, ensuring safe, efficient, and comfortable journeys. Additionally, the training is a mandatory requirement for exercising paid activities in the category.
The General Director of Detran, Renata Coelho, emphasized the importance of professional qualification. “The delivery of these certificates represents much more than the completion of a course. It is the recognition of the effort of each driver who sought to qualify to offer safer, more humane, and efficient transport for our population. Investing in the training of these professionals is investing in the life and well-being of all who use public transport daily. Detran, together with the State Government, will continue to promote training that reinforces the responsibility and appreciation of these workers who are so important for urban mobility.”
The course, with a workload of 50 hours, included theoretical and practical activities distributed across four modules: Traffic Legislation, with updates on the CTB and specific regulations for collective transport; Defensive Driving, focused on accident prevention and safe driving; Citizenship and Environment, which reinforces social responsibility and sustainable practices; and Interpersonal Relations, focused on developing empathy and good practices in relationships with passengers and colleagues.

One of the participants, Antônio Mendes, a school bus driver, shared his experience. “I feel very happy to have participated in this course, which brought more resources for my professionalization and expanded my knowledge in the transport area. I would like to thank the city hall and the State Government, which, through this partnership, provided this learning opportunity. The profession of driver is fundamental, and receiving this training, knowing that the government is attentive to our needs, is extremely gratifying. I hope more opportunities like this arise, which contribute to improving our performance and offering an increasingly better service to the population,” he commented.
The initiative reinforces the commitment of the State Government and Detran to the professionalization of drivers, the quality of collective transport, and road safety, contributing to the formation of qualified professionals to offer efficient, safe, and comfortable services, directly benefiting the population that uses public transport daily.
