Pará presents sport fishing destinations at the "Fishing Show Brazil" fair in São Paulo
At the Pará booth, the State will promote the main fishing destinations and the most sought-after species by sport fishermen, with the distribution of printed materials and videos projected in the space.

Between August 28 and 31, the State Tourism Secretariat (Setur) participates in the "Fishing Show Brazil" fair at the São Paulo Expo in São Paulo. Considered one of the largest sport fishing and outdoor fairs in Latin America, the event creates growth opportunities and promotes the meeting between retailers, specialists, and exclusive sport fishing brands. It also highlights tourism, outdoor activities, sports shooting, and nautical activities.

At the Pará booth, the State will promote the main fishing destinations and the most desired species by sport fishermen, with the distribution of printed materials and videos projected in the space. Pará also presents its new tourism brand, "Visit Pará", to the market. One of the attractions of the booth is the scenic aquarium with the main species of sport fish from the region, made from miriti.
Co-exhibitors at the booth include representatives from Semas and lodges specialized in fishing tourism, such as Thaimaçu Lodge, Amazônia Fishing Lodge, Mapuera Sport Fishing, and Pousada Rio Xingu.
Located in Oriximiná, on the banks of the Mapuera River, Mapuera Sport Fishing was designed and built to host fishing and nature enthusiasts. "It has been sensational for all of us to participate in this fair; it is a wonderful promotion. And I hope that Pará continues to explode in this area of sport fishing, which is one of the things that drives the economy and still has many opportunities to explore in Pará," says Paulo Cavalcanti from Mapuera Sport Fishing.
For Allyson Neri, manager of the DPRT (Tourism Products Directorate) of Setur, Pará has consolidated its image as a sport fishing tourism destination. "This is already the third consecutive year of participation in specialized fairs in the segment. And this year, the Fishing Show comes to demonstrate that the market is heated and growing. In Brazil, there are more than 28 million interested in sport fishing, according to data from FISH TV. A market that already moves more than one billion reais in the Brazilian economy," he comments.
According to the deputy secretary of Setur, Lucas Vieira, participation in specialized fairs is important to increase the visibility of the destination to the specialized audience as well. "In this specific case, sport fishing, Pará stands out for having the greatest biodiversity of fish species in Brazil. In addition to different environments for sport fishing, such as marine estuaries, mangroves, rivers, lagoons, and reservoirs. Pará also holds five world records for fish registered with the IGFA - International Game Fish Association," points out the secretary.
