The municipality of Xinguara, in the southeast of Pará, kicked off the 26th edition of the Xinguara Agricultural Fair (FAX 2025) on the night of this Saturday (30), one of the largest and most traditional events in the sector in the State. The opening ceremony, held at the Rural Union, was attended by Governor Helder Barbalho, Lieutenant Governor Hana Ghassan, the municipal mayor, Osvaldinho Assunção, the president of the Rural Union of Xinguara, Joel Lobato, the Minister of Cities, Jader Filho, as well as state and federal deputies, mayors, former mayors, and other regional leaders.

In his speech, the governor highlighted the relevance of agriculture for the development of Pará, emphasizing the commitments of the state administration to stimulate production, job creation, and income.

"I am very proud to be able to live with you the reality of a State that grows at every moment and that has a reference in livestock, in rural production, of hardworking people from the countryside who put food on the table and ensure that job generation, from rural production, can be a reality for this entire region. Few people know, but Pará has the second largest cattle production in all of Brazil. We have 26 million head of cattle in the State. Therefore, we are a reference for this Country and we must be proud. And if Pará today has the second largest cattle herd in the State, there is a city that symbolizes this. It is the capital of Beef, it is Xinguara, Long live Xinguara!" celebrated the governor.

Lieutenant Governor Hana Ghassan also emphasized the strategic role of Xinguara in the national agribusiness scenario and the importance of celebrating local culture. "FAX will have a week of festivities, representing the culture here, representing the strength of Pará. I want to wish you a week full of joy, as it is the result of a partnership between the city hall, the state government, and the union," she highlighted.

The president of the Rural Union of Xinguara, Joel Lobato, organizer of the event, emphasized the importance of the programming and the welcome of all those coming to the municipality to learn about the schedule, which will include auctions, rodeos, sports competitions, commercial exhibits, in addition to major national shows.

Programming

The programming extends until September 6

Among the highlights are the Ruralist Cavalcade, scheduled for this Sunday (31), cattle auctions, marching competitions, lasso and barrel racing, the traditional Garlic Burning, in addition to cultural attractions and national shows, such as the duo Jorge & Mateus.

The Agricultural Defense Agency of the State of Pará (Adepará) is one of the exhibitors participating in FAX 2025. Deiverson Bastos, regional manager of Adepará in Xinguara, highlighted the role that the Agency plays in assisting rural producers.

"We have the role of intensifying work in the animal and plant areas, not only in our region but in the state of Pará in general. And here, the Adepará stand reinforces this role, which is to be side by side with the producer, to clarify doubts about programs, foot-and-mouth disease, and animal traceability, among other actions," he said.

For nurse Jaqueline Brito, the agricultural fair is the most awaited event by the Xinguara population. "Every year we get very anxious. The fair is wonderful, very well organized, I saw police ensuring security. This is a family party," she highlights.

Businessman Oeires Gomes is participating in the Xinguara Exhibition Fair for the second time. He guarantees that it is an excellent opportunity to showcase and sell his products.

"For me, it’s very good, this is the second year we are here, selling products well, people getting to know. What we sell that is not in the region, so it definitely attracts people's attention to come look, get to know the product. The exhibition in general attracts people's attention, and it already increases sales a bit," he assured.

Recognized as one of the main agricultural events in the State, the Xinguara Agricultural Fair boosts the regional economy, strengthens local commerce, and reinforces the role of the municipality as one of the largest producers of meat and milk in the country.

The show lineup features nationally renowned attractions, including João Bosco & Vinicius (August 30), Washington Brasileiro (September 2), Cleber & Cauan (September 3), Jorge & Mateus (September 4), Valéria Barros (September 5), and Mano Walter (September 6).
