Avenida Visconde de Souza Franco reaches 98% completion of the works and the road can now be almost fully appreciated

The works of the Nova Doca Linear Park have reached 98% completion and have progressed with the removal of the fences from blocks 6 and 7. Now, those passing through Avenida Visconde de Souza Franco can follow the progress of the services in the section between the streets Bernal do Couto/Ó de Almeida and Diogo Móia/Antônio Barreto.

With this stage, the intervention is entering its final stretch, with only one block left to have the fence removed. "We are making the final adjustments to make this important work available to the population of Belém and our state, as well as to the visitors of COP30. The work is progressing on schedule, demonstrating the commitment of the Government of Pará to deliver structural legacies from the Conference that will be held in our capital in November of this year,” said the Deputy Secretary of Public Works of the State, Gilmar Mota.

The Public Works Department of Pará informs that the works are being carried out on schedule

New public equipment – Block 6 of Nova Doca received a kiosk with a living area, bathroom, trash can, tables, thermal benches, and bike racks. Block 7 features a hammock area as its main public equipment, a space dedicated to the installation of nets for resting, contemplation, and relaxation.

The areas have been planted with species that make up the landscaping of Nova Doca. In total, 180 trees are planned to be distributed across the eight blocks of the Linear Park. The water purification strategy includes a wastewater treatment system through wetlands, the so-called "filter gardens," which use plants to filter impurities from the canal and return purified water, promoting oxygenation and reducing environmental impacts.

The Nova Doca Linear Park project covers 1.2 kilometers of canal, with drainage, landscaping, and urbanization

Investments and legacy – The Nova Doca Linear Park is the result of a partnership between the Government of Pará and the Federal Government, through Itaipu Binacional. The project covers 1.2 kilometers of canal, with drainage, landscaping, urbanization, bike paths, and the construction of walkways, in addition to the replacement of the gates for tide control and flood prevention.

Avenida Nova Doca has several community spaces for people of all ages

More than 2.4 kilometers of Avenida Visconde de Souza Franco will also be paved, and new deep and shallow drainage systems will be constructed to receive rainwater, a sanitary sewage network, and potable water piping.
