The cycling team from Pará had a historic performance at the 47th North and Northeast Road Cycling Cup, held from August 29 to 31, 2025, in Rio Branco (Acre). With the support of the Government of Pará, through the State Secretariat of Sports and Leisure (Seel), the Pará delegation, made up of 41 athletes, achieved significant results.

In the North and Northeast Cup, the athletes from Pará reached the podium 15 times, winning five gold medals, two silver, and eight bronze, which secured 4th place overall in the medal table. In the North Cup, held concurrently with the event, Pará shone even brighter, securing 34 medals (nine gold, ten silver, and 15 bronze) and the overall runner-up title.

The competition brought together around 450 cyclists from 16 states, on a challenging 4.6 km course on Avenida Amadeo Barbosa.

The Secretary of Sports and Leisure, Cássio Andrade, highlighted the team's performance. "We are happy with the great results of these athletes who represented the state's colors very well. We, from the Government of Pará, through Seel, will continue to invest more and more in these young talents because sports mean health and joy," he stated.

Thiego Galvão celebrated the participation and opportunity

The cyclist Thiego Galvão did not reach the podium but celebrated the participation. "It was a very important Cup, and Pará was able to stand out a lot in various categories, from the base to the elite, both in men's and women's. The conditions were very challenging, with temperatures reaching up to 44ºC, but we managed to overcome and show our strength," he said.

The president of the Pará Cycling Federation, Kaiser Alessandro, emphasized the joint effort to form the delegation. "We managed to bring together athletes from various regions, such as Belém, Ananindeua, Marabá, Altamira, Parauapebas, Bragança, and Xinguara, and put together a competitive team. The support from the Government of Pará, through Seel, was essential for us to achieve this significant result," he highlighted.
