HRBA is a reference in health in Western Pará

The Dr. Waldemar Penna Regional Hospital of Lower Amazon (HRBA) is open for registrations for the 1st Theoretical and Practical Course for Elderly Caregivers, which will be held from the 10th to the 13th of this month, in the unit's auditorium, in Santarém, in Western Pará. Registrations are free and can be made through an electronic form available here. Spots are limited.

The training is aimed at the general public, and anyone over 18 years old can participate, whether they are health professionals or not. The HRBA's goal is to contribute to education in the region by offering an extensive and diverse program that can prepare participants for the job market.

"It is an educational stimulus from HRBA to society, contributing for the population to specialize and gain more knowledge. We are a teaching hospital, but we understand that we also need to reach another audience and promote this training and exchange of knowledge with our collaborators," said the unit's assistant manager, Mônica Bianca Barros.

Program - The course will have a workload of 40 hours, and at the end of the event, students will receive a certificate of participation. Topics such as: physiology of the elderly; nutritional status and diet therapy; care regarding medication use; bed bathing and diaper changing; prevention of pressure injuries; care for ostomies and devices; first aid; airway care, among others, will be covered.

The classes will be taught by the hospital's own professionals, who are a reference in medium and high complexity for a population of 1.4 million inhabitants, residing in 29 municipalities in Western Pará.

The project is developed by the Social Institute Mais Saúde, which manages the Regional Hospital of Lower Amazon, in partnership with the State Department of Public Health of Pará (Sespa).

"We want to offer this health education, and there is no better way than for our professionals to share knowledge with the population. It is a way to train people who are interested in this area, who will learn how to provide quality service for the elderly and their families. We are very happy to be able to contribute to health and professional qualification," highlighted the general director of HRBA, Matheus Coutinho.

Located in Western Pará, the Regional Hospital of Lower Amazon provides 100% referenced services, meeting the demand originating from the State Regulation Center. The unit belongs to the Government of Pará, being managed by the Social Institute Mais Saúde, in partnership with the State Department of Public Health (Sespa), and is located at Avenida Sérgio Henn, nº 1100, Diamantino neighborhood, in Santarém.
