Action by the Integrated Force to Combat Organized Crime (Ficco/PA) and the Criminal Gangs Task Force (GTF), linked to the Police Intelligence Center (NIP) of the Civil Police of Pará, resulted in the arrest of ten people investigated for being part of a criminal organization specialized in the illicit drug trade, extortion, and attacks against public agents. The police action took place this Thursday (4), as part of Operation “Outstanding Debt”, which aimed to execute preventive arrest warrants and home search and seizure orders issued by the Court of the Organized Crime Combat Court of Belém.

Drugs seized during Operation 'Outstanding Debt'

“In addition to the preventive arrests, we managed to make two arrests in the act for drug trafficking, as we found a large quantity of drugs with some targets. One of the arrested individuals, who was in the municipality of Igarapé-Açu, was caught with 267 grams of cocaine, over 1.5 kilograms of marijuana, nine rounds of ammunition, precision scales, cash, and materials for packaging the drugs. She will also be charged with illegal possession of ammunition,” explained delegate Vitor Fontes, head of Ficco/PA.

In Camboriú (SC), one of the arrested individuals was found with 35.6 kg of marijuana. The drug was in the residence of the suspect, who will be charged with illicit drug trafficking.

“In the first phase of the operation, we executed another 37 preventive arrest warrants and search and seizure orders against suspects (now defendants/convicted) for performing the same role within the criminal organization,” added the delegate.

Ficco/PA is a task force composed of the Federal Police (PF), Civil Police of Pará, and the State Secretariat of Penitentiary Administration (Seap), and aims to carry out a joint and integrated action in combating organized crime in Pará. The operation also involved the participation of the Investigation Support Center (NAI) of Santarém, the 16th Urban Section of Santarém, the Police Stations of Curuçá, Prainha, and Igarapé-Açu, the Military Police of Portel and Igarapé-Açu, and the Civil Police of Santa Catarina and Goiás.

Operation covered several municipalities in Pará

All those arrested were taken for legal procedures at the police station and are now at the disposal of the Justice.
