Two people are arrested by the Civil Police in Marituba for mistreatment, false imprisonment, resistance, and obstruction of justice
The detainees were at a therapeutic clinic that was the target of complaints for keeping adolescents locked up and with poor nutrition. Four patients were removed from the location and reported the mistreatment suffered.

On the morning of this Friday (5), the team from the Division of Adolescent Care (DATA) in Ananindeua, in partnership with the Guardianship Council II of Marituba, launched Operation "Rescue" which resulted in the arrest of two people. One of the arrested will answer for mistreatment and false imprisonment and the other for obstruction of justice and resistance.
The police received complaints from the Guardianship Council about mistreatment involving adolescents interned in an establishment that operated as a therapeutic clinic, located on Passagem São Cristóvão, in the São João neighborhood, in Marituba, Metropolitan Region of Belém (RMB).
According to the Guardianship Council, the aforementioned clinic does not have registration or authorization from the competent municipal authorities and was frequently reported for mistreatment of the adolescents interned there.

“At the time of the diligence, we were prevented from entering the location by a security guard. Outside, it was possible to hear cries for help coming from inside the clinic, which is why we requested support from the Military Police and the Municipal Guard of Marituba. After about an hour, we managed to access the location from the back, at which point we found several inmates who reported frequent mistreatment and that the food, on several occasions, was served spoiled and that the dormitories, as well as the general conditions of the clinic, were precarious,” reported delegate Camila Jeha, responsible for the investigation.

Other reports indicated that the inmates were kept locked in their rooms. The guardianship counselor present at the action confirmed, along with the Municipal Council for the Rights of Children and Adolescents, that the clinic does not have registration or authorization to accommodate children and adolescents.
“In light of the facts, our team made the arrest in flagrant of the clinic's security guard for the crime of obstruction of justice, and the manager of the establishment for the crime of mistreatment and false imprisonment. Both were taken to the specialized police station, where appropriate measures were taken,” concluded the delegate.
