Codec articulates investments for the Barcarena Industrial District
Meeting with an investor from the fertilizer sector reinforces the role of the Government of Pará in expanding the industrial base of the State
The potential of the Barcarena Industrial District increasingly attracts those interested in investing in Pará. On the afternoon of this Thursday (11), the Pará Economic Development Company (Codec) held an online meeting with an investor from the fertilizer sector, who is studying the possibility of expanding their operations to the State of Pará. The meeting was led by the Director of Investment and Business Attraction, Manoel Ibiapina, and included the participation of the New Business Service Manager, Sabrina Sena.
During the meeting, opportunities for establishing a venture in Barcarena, a municipality in the Metropolitan Region of Belém, were presented, strategic due to the Vila do Conde Port and its growing role as a logistics and industrial hub. The investor expressed interest in a plot of land between 10 and 12 hectares, with the possibility of future expansion, aimed at storage, mixing, and logistics activities for fertilizers.

“Our goal is to develop a project that does not compete but complements the existing chain in Barcarena. There is a significant demand for differentiated services, such as the distribution in 50 kg bags, which serves medium producers and family farming. We see great potential in Barcarena to enhance integration with markets in the Amazon, such as Amapá, Roraima, and Manaus (AM),” highlighted the investor during the meeting.
Potential - With a total area of 5,364 hectares, of which 1,277 ha are still available for ventures, the Barcarena Industrial District already hosts 89 companies, generating more than 5,500 direct jobs and over 21,000 indirect jobs. These numbers reinforce the municipality's position as a strategic hub for attracting industrial and logistics ventures.

For Director Manoel Ibiapina, the proposal aligns with the Government of Pará's strategy to diversify and strengthen the business environment. “Codec has been working to attract ventures that add competitiveness and sustainability to the State's economy. Barcarena is today one of the most strategic territories for new investments, and we remain committed to providing security, transparency, and institutional support to those who wish to settle in Pará,” he stated.
As a follow-up, Codec will present up to three options for areas in the Barcarena Industrial District with the capacity to meet the needs of the venture, reinforcing its role as a facilitator of investments that generate jobs, income, and regional development.
