2nd Mutirão of 'Agora Tem Especialistas' conducts over a thousand services in Pará
Sespa monitored the action 'Dia E – Ebserh em Ação', from the federal government, at Hospital Barros Barreto

The State Department of Public Health (Sespa) monitored, this Saturday (13), the second mutirão of the Agora Tem Especialistas program, during the Dia E – Ebserh em Ação, an initiative of the federal government aimed at reducing the waiting list for specialized medium and high complexity services throughout the country.
In Pará, the mobilization took place at the University Hospital Complex of the Federal University of Pará (CHU-UFPA), which includes the João de Barros Barreto University Hospital (HUJBB) and the Bettina Ferro de Souza University Hospital (HUBFS), in Belém.
The Deputy Secretary of Health of the State, Heloisa Guimarães, visited the facilities of HUJBB and followed, live, the simultaneous broadcast that connected the Pará unit to the President of the Republic, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, the Minister of Health, Alexandre Padilha, and the Minister of Education, Camilo Santana.

According to the manager, the realization of the mutirão in Pará reinforces the commitment to expanding the population's access to health services. “Sespa conducts the state public policy, but it is the integration between the Union, State, and municipality that generates results for the population. Today we celebrate over a thousand services performed at Hospital Barros Barreto, including consultations, procedures, and exams from the mutirão. Our goal is for actions like Dia E to occur more frequently, until they become weekly, to meet the great demand for health in Pará,” highlighted Heloisa Guimarães.
The event also featured the presence of the Minister of Cities, Jader Filho, who emphasized the positive impact of the action: “This mutirão is essential to serve families who have been waiting so long for exams and elective surgeries. Just today, there were over 1,300 services at Barros Barreto and Bettina Ferro, helping to unlock queues and ensuring the population's right to quality health. This initiative strengthens the SUS and makes us very happy to happen here in Belém and in several states across the country,” said the minister.

About the mutirão
The Agora Tem Especialistas aims to expand the population's access to consultations, exams, and elective surgeries, reducing waiting times in the public network. The action prioritizes strategic areas such as oncology, cardiology, and orthopedics.
This Saturday, the mobilization occurred simultaneously in 45 university hospitals of the Ebserh Network, in all regions of Brazil. In total, 24 states and the Federal District participated.
From Brasília, President Lula, Ministers Alexandre Padilha and Camilo Santana, and the president of Ebserh, Arthur Chioro, monitored the progress of services in university hospitals in Belo Horizonte (MG), Belém (PA), São Luís (MA), Goiânia (GO), and Curitiba (PR) via online transmission.
A new mutirão is already scheduled for December, again involving the entire Ebserh Network. Sespa confirmed continuous support for the initiative whenever it is held in Pará.
