Traffic receives new detour for the advancement of the New Rua da Marinha works
Closure of the section between Rua Sexta and Passagem Dias starts this Monday (15)

Starting at 8 am this Monday (15), traffic on Rua da Marinha, between Rua Sexta and Passagem Dias, will be closed for the continuation of the New Rua da Marinha works in Belém. Vehicles will be directed to the already completed section of the extension and duplication of the road. To ensure safety and fluidity, the perimeter between Avenida Augusto Montenegro and Rua Sexta will also remain closed.
The traffic changes will be made gradually, every 500 meters, minimizing impacts on traffic. While there is a detour, the new lane will have an exclusive parking space for residents of the area.
The New Rua da Marinha project, which will transform the area into a strategic road corridor, is part of the legacy of works from the 30th United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP30).
New mobility axis – With a length of 3.5 kilometers, the extension and duplication of the New Rua da Marinha will reduce congestion, increase road safety, decrease travel time in the Metropolitan Region of Belém, and reinforce urban development.
The project, executed by the State Secretariat for Public Works (Seop), includes two two-way lanes with three traffic lanes each, a bike lane, and accessible sidewalks. It also includes horizontal and vertical signage, bus stops, and new LED lighting, providing more comfort and safety for the population.
