Construction of the New Marinha Street advances with closure starting this Thursday (18)
Sections of the road will be closed for the continuation of the planned interventions until the beginning of October, to connect to Avenida Centenário

Starting at 8 AM this Thursday (18), traffic on Marinha Street, between Rodolfo Chermont Street and Santarém Avenue, will be closed to continue the works of the New Marinha Street. The project, one of the legacies of the 30th United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP30) for Belém, will connect the road to Avenida Centenário.

The traffic change will occur until October. To ensure safety and fluidity, the perimeter between Augusto Montenegro Avenue and Passagem Dias will also remain closed.
Marinha Street is undergoing earthworks, asphalt paving, drainage, sidewalks, signage, and a central median, which will be part of the extension and duplication of the New Marinha Street, a major infrastructure and urban mobility corridor for the capital of Pará.
Mobility – The extension and duplication of the New Marinha Street will have a length of 3.5 kilometers. Executed by the State Department of Public Works (Seop), the project will reduce congestion, increase road safety, decrease travel time in the Metropolitan Region of Belém, and strengthen urban development.
The road will feature two lanes in each direction, each consisting of three traffic lanes, as well as a bike lane and accessible sidewalk. The project also includes horizontal and vertical signage, bus stops, and new LED lighting, providing more comfort and safety for the population.
