Six mothers of hospitalized babies participated in the dynamics this week

On this Wednesday (17), the Regional Hospital of Tapajós (HRT), in Itaituba, southwest of Pará, held another edition of the "Windows of Dialogue: a space for guidance and support for companions of pediatric ICUs" project. Six mothers of patients hospitalized in the Pediatric, Neonatal, and Kangaroo units participated in the activity, which aims to provide support, clarify doubts about hospital routines, and offer emotional support to families.

The initiative, held weekly since the beginning of September, included the participation of nutritionist Karla Simone; nurse Edinália Carolina, who presented guidelines on ICU routines and care for the babies; and psychologist Michely Lima, who addressed issues related to the emotional well-being of the companions.

For Rosiele da Silva, 34, the moment brought security and confidence. “It was very enlightening. I am enchanted by the importance of the Kangaroo method and realized how it can help in the development and recovery of the baby. I leave here more confident and welcomed,” she highlighted.

Psychologist Michely Lima emphasized the relevance of the listening space. “Hospitalization is a delicate period, full of uncertainties. This moment of dialogue helps reduce anxiety and makes families feel more supported,” she stated.

The project reinforces the humanization of care at HRT

Coordinated by nurse Andressa Cardoso, the project reinforces the humanization of care at HRT. “Our goal is for companions to feel part of the care process. When the family understands the routines, rules, and the importance of their presence, care becomes more integral and human,” she explained.

The "Windows of Dialogue" has already established itself as an essential action at the Regional Hospital of Tapajós, strengthening the partnership between families and the multiprofessional team during the hospitalization period of the young patients.
