In the early hours of this Monday (15), military police conducting patrols in the municipality of Tucuruí, southeast of Pará, provided an unusual and socially significant service. The squad was called by a desperate woman who reported that her daughter was in labor.

Upon arriving at the scene, the officers found the mother in intense contractions. Given the urgency and circumstances, the squad provided immediate assistance for the childbirth, ensuring the safety of the mother and the baby, who was born healthy. Subsequently, the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) was called and took the mother and daughter to the hospital for necessary medical care.

In addition to the support at the time of birth, the police extended their solidarity to the family. Together with the command of the 1st Company of the 13th Battalion, the squad organized a collection among the agents and friends, resulting in the donation of basic items for the baby and the mother. At the time of hospital discharge, basic food baskets, a crib, a bathtub, clothes, and other baby products were delivered.

“The gesture reinforces the importance of the Military Police's role in different contexts of social life, not only in combating crime but also in preserving life and supporting families in vulnerable situations,” highlighted the commander of the 13th Military Police Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel Maciel.
