The Public Security Integration Region of Baixo Tocantins (4th RISP), which encompasses 11 municipalities in Pará, achieved a 58% reduction in Intentional Violent Lethal Crimes (CVLI), including homicide, femicide, robbery followed by death, and bodily injury resulting in death, from January 1 to August 31, 2025, compared to the same period in 2018. The data comes from the Criminal Intelligence and Analysis Subsecretariat (Siac), linked to the Public Security and Social Defense Secretariat (Segup), released this week.

In absolute numbers, the region recorded 89 cases of CVLI from January to August 2025, while in 2018 there were 211 occurrences, indicating a 58% reduction. The data shows that the good practices adopted by the state management have had a significant effect both in the Metropolitan Region of Belém and in the integrated regions of Pará, such as the Baixo Tocantins Region, highlights the Secretary of Public Security, Ualame Machado.

“Analyzing the statistical data from January to August 2025, compared to the same period in 2018, we have in Baixo Tocantins a strong reduction in crime when it comes to intentional violent lethal crimes (CVLI), with a 58% reduction. In cases of robbery, the reduction reaches 75% across the region. This is the result of the integrated work of all security forces, aligned with investment in security totems, new police stations, barracks, boats, and other cutting-edge equipment. Furthermore, this year the Baixo Tocantins Base will be delivered, which will be located near the fundo do capim region, so that we can monitor the entire area, following the strategy of other river bases installed in strategic regions, to ensure the continuity of the integrated work of the security forces,” emphasized Ualame Machado.

The indicators of property crimes also showed a reduction in the Baixo Tocantins Region, decreasing the number of robberies by 75.33% in 2025 compared to the same period in 2018, as well as 71.54% compared to 2024. The region recorded 5,162, 1,469, and 1,273 cases from January to August 2018, 2024, and 2025, respectively.

The cases of thefts had a 46.40% reduction between the years 2018 and 2025, with 6,528 and 3,499 occurrences of thefts in the region, respectively.

Investments in security

To ensure the effectiveness of the actions carried out daily in the region, the Government of Pará continues to strengthen investments in public security.

During this administration, the municipality of Abaetetuba received two boats of 150HP and 60HP to strengthen the river actions of the Civil and Military police, in addition to the Central of Attendance and Dispatch (CAD), which receives calls from 190 and 193. The municipality also has Specialized Police Stations for Women's Assistance and for Children and Adolescents, in addition to having received 24 ballistic vests and a pink vehicle for operations in the Pró-Mulher Pará program to combat violence against women.

The investment in public security extended to the municipalities of Baião, which received 5 communication radios for the Municipal Guard; Barcarena received the 7th Civil Police Station, in addition to two public security totems; Cametá was awarded the Integrated Police Unit (UIP), 27 ballistic vests, and communication radios for the Municipal Guard, and the city of Limoeiro do Ajuru received a 60 HP boat to ensure adequate reinforcement in the actions of municipal agents.

Soon, the municipality of Abaetetuba will also receive the 3rd Integrated Riverine Public Security Base, which integrates security strategies for the state's river network, combating crime in the rivers and ensuring the safety of the population.
