Ideflor-Bio discusses advancements for the Monte Alegre State Park and APA Paytuna in a technical meeting
The discussions addressed investments in infrastructure and maintenance in the conservation unit, considered one of the main ones in the Northern Channel

Strategic agendas related to the Monte Alegre State Park (Pema) and the Environmental Protection Area (APA) Paytuna were the subject of a meeting between the president of the Forest Development and Biodiversity Institute of Pará (Ideflor-Bio), Nilson Pinto, and the manager of the Administrative Region of the Northern Channel 1 (GRCN-1), Itajury Kishi, in Belém. The discussions addressed investments in infrastructure and maintenance in the conservation unit, considered one of the main ones in the Northern Channel.
Among the highlighted points are structural reforms and support for sustainable development programs, especially actions aimed at the surrounding area of the protected site, which directly involve the local community in preservation initiatives. The meeting also included the presence of Ideflor-Bio biologist, Arley Santos, and the former mayor of Prainha, Patrícia Hage.
Another central theme was the continuity and strengthening of the Mechanization Program, already initiated in Monte Alegre, which seeks to provide technical and structural support to family farmers in the region. According to the management, the initiative plays an important role in reducing pressure on conservation units while promoting socioeconomic improvements for the local population.

The president of Ideflor-Bio, Nilson Pinto, reinforced the importance of dialogue with regional managements to closely understand the challenges and plan joint solutions. “We have sought, in each region, to listen to demands and align priorities. The Pema and the APA Paytuna play an essential role for biodiversity and for the sustainable development of the Northern Channel, and our work is to ensure that public policies reach efficiently and integrated,” he stated.
Alignment - For the head of GRCN-1, Itajury Kishi, the meeting represented an opportunity to align strategies that ensure more effectiveness in the management of the two units. “The Monte Alegre State Park and the APA Paytuna are environmental and cultural heritage of Pará. Our commitment is to ensure that these spaces receive the necessary investments, both in conservation and in projects that bring communities closer to management, generating collective benefits,” he highlighted.
The meeting was also evaluated as an important step to strengthen the relationship between Ideflor-Bio, local managers, and institutional partners, expanding the possibilities for articulation for new projects. The expectation is that, based on the discussed agendas, action schedules will be defined that result in visible improvements for the units and for the population living in the surroundings.
