The State Secretariat for Public Security and Social Defense (Segup), in partnership with state and municipal security agencies, launched this Friday (19) Operation “Impulsus 2” to reinforce the ostensive presence in the municipality of Marituba, in the Metropolitan Region of Belém. The objective is to combat crime with preventive measures and awareness, ensuring the population more tranquility with enhanced security.

As in the first phase of the Operation, carried out in Belém, there will be traffic actions, barriers, establishment inspections, judicial police actions, ostensive security, video monitoring, and exclusion zones. With these actions, the State seeks to curb practices of extortion and threats by criminal organizations, thefts, burglaries, and other illicit behaviors.

“The ostensive presence of the Integrated Public Security System, along with the planned and simultaneous actions of Operation 'Impulsus 2' in the main neighborhoods of Marituba, demonstrates our unwavering commitment to the safety of the population. This Operation is a reflection of the coordinated and strategic effort to ensure order and tranquility, effectively combating crime. We will continue to strengthen these initiatives to ensure an increasingly safe environment for all citizens,” stated the State Secretary for Public Security and Social Defense, Ualame Machado.

Planning - The State will act preventively throughout the municipality, with a greater impact in the following neighborhoods: Santa Clara and Santa Lúcia, Conjunto Albatroz, Canaã, Almir Gabriel, Novo Horizonte, Nova União, São Francisco, União, and Beija-Flor, and in the area known as Invasão do Japonês. The actions will be developed in the morning, afternoon, and evening. More than 500 integrated security agents will participate in the Operation, supported by 154 vehicles, 57 motorcycles, two dogs, and two tow trucks.

The first front of action began at 9 am this Friday (19), with a concentration in front of a residential area in the Parque Verde neighborhood, and included preventive actions to ensure the safety of people's movements. Saturation and operational shock actions will continue until dawn, with rounds and monitoring of public movement in commercial and entertainment establishments.

An aircraft from the Air Security Group (Graesp) provides support with overflights. The Mounted Police Regiment (RPMont) of the Military Police will also act in ostensive policing.

Integrated Actions - The agents inspect bars, restaurants, concert halls, and similar establishments, checking the regularity of operational documentation, the conditions of fire prevention and combat equipment, and practices of crimes and offenses, especially related to the involvement of criminal organizations, drug trafficking, child sexual exploitation, and environmental crimes.

In traffic, there will be coordinated action among the agencies in the area for traffic control, organization, blockades, and flow diversions, in order to avoid congestion and prevent accidents and infractions, using the tow truck.

Monitoring - The Integrated Operations Center (CIOp) will be responsible for monitoring with cameras, defining mosaics in support of the established security scheme. There will also be reinforcement in monitoring the cameras of the totems installed in strategic areas, including support for ostensive policing actions and to subsidize investigation demands and flagrant procedures in criminal practices for judicial police.

Exclusion Zones - The State Secretariat for Penitentiary Administration (Seap), through the Search and Recapture Group (GBR), will create monitoring areas in the neighborhoods of Marituba to monitor individuals who are under monitored release and prohibited from frequenting bars, concert halls, and similar establishments. The objective is to maintain order and security in these locations, with the participation of operators from the Integrated Electronic Monitoring Center (Cime). The Secretariat will also send efforts to locate fugitives and those evading justice, acting in an integrated manner with all involved agencies.
